Well, I took a look at this thread and realized I should have come here first to introduce myself before I started chatting away! So sorry!
I'm Sandy. I live in a suburb of St. Louis - Kirkwood. I've passed the half-century mark - lordy, that sounds old. Most days I feel much younger, some days I could really use a shot of WD-40!
Five years ago, we moved into a townhouse with the intention of building outside the city, perhaps on a few acres. That didn't work out - long story not worth going into right now.
Our beloved pooch - a Cavalier King Charles spaniel - died in 2005 at 13 y/o and my first horse died in 2006. I had been without pets until adopting my current horse, Caoilainn, from the Humane Society Rescue Ranch this year. You've already heard me ooohhhing and aaahhhing about how wonderful I think she is.
Been married 26 years....two step-daughters and our son, all of whom live out of state!
My hubby and I think alike on most important issues, but we are much different in others. I would live on a farm with an assortment of critters, a garden, chickens, and fresh air in a heartbeat. He "doesn't do tractors."
I would love to have two or three dogs running around. His heart still aches for our first dog and he doesn't want another. We find ways to compromise.
This board is a wealth of information and entertainment!

Hey, not a biggie. Not everyone thinks to go here. In fact, much of the time we forget to read here. And here's your official WELCOME! ;D My friend Joye has a Cavalier King Charles spaniel. He's just a baby, and she got him this summer. Named him Charlie. Really creative, that one. He's an adorable little dog. And I don't know about being a wealth of information, but shoot, I'm entertained here at least several times a day! The people here are the BEST, hands down. I'm so pleased that you decided to join us. Now where the heck did I get that you spelled your name Sandi with an *i*?

Okay! Horse.com board is down and I found this board while grocery shopping in Mississippi and a lady from South Dakota hugged me and said her daughter belongs here! I figure it's providence. I have 3 OTStbd boys and an Appy filly.

Hi all! I'm also a 50+ horsewoman from the northeast, been around horses or owned them most of my life, currently living on a small farm with a horse and a pony. Love to talk horses and be silly. Always glad to offer an opinion and help out wherever I can. This looks like a nice forum... hope to get to know some of you. See y'all around the boards!

Thanks for the welcome! Karen, I don't believe we have met but maybe we have on other forums (I'm on a few different ones.. not all horse related ). I'm online a lot... just love to chat but mostly read articles and watch horse videos. What a tremendous resource the computer is.. I cant' get enough! (Already blown out 3 laptops in the last ten years LOL). MaryAnn, how I found you was I googled something.. it might have been a question about Fabtron saddles...or, the possibility (truth or myth?) of Paints with blue eyes being flighty... both things I've been researching recently. The search engine sent me here for an answer and I got to reading other posts and liked the tone and respect people seem to have for one another here. As you probably know, this virtue is not always easy to find on public forums. So I thought it would be cool to join in .

Hi again everyone! I was here for a short bit, then life got crazy and I wasn't around so much. I tried to log on tonight, but it had been so long, I no longer had an account. (shame on me). So I'm Steph--formerly Steph J, for those that knew me that way. (Was married, then divorced and now newly married again--but not that quick!) I have one quarter horse mare, call her Jess--3 dogs; Wagner, golden retriever; Gizzie, JRT and Ginger, chocolate lab. And one baby on the way in May. I look forward to reconnecting with old friends--and meeting lots of new ones as well.
