Periodically, I think of this "Amex" who helped us with so much information when we were learning about Emmy's navicular disease. For some reason, I decided to google acmepet to see what came up... www.acmepet.org/Weird? ETA: This site looks dormant, but there's another acmechat that's semi active. I often wonder where everyone went, not that I remember all that clearly.

Huh... wonder if they're going to start it up again?
I started there too, when I first started looking for another horse (who turned out to be Magic) in early 2000.
I remember it was kind of neat because there were cat, dog and horse boards all together at the same site. Able to post to any of them. And what different personalities on each board!

I began on the DHBB when we first got the internet about 11 years ago and stayed there till they closed it.
I used to have a link to the old DHBB and it was fun reading all the familiar names and wondering where they are now.
I thought I had it bookmarked but I can't seem to find it now. If I do, I'll post it.

Yep, thats where I started to get to know most of the "oldies" on this board. SM is what followed and then it morphed into this board when it got snippy there. Notice SM is slower than snot now-I follow it just so I don't miss one post of the fox hunter whose name escapes me-I think her horses name is WD? or was that her old horse....?) But she has a way with words and the pictures....sigh. NOT that I want to go out and jump some of those jumps. But its exciting to read about anyways.

You know, I wish we could still search our old posts at Acme horse board. What a trip down memory lane THAT would be LOL!

I have often googled acme-pet too!!
That board was started years ago.. and it just seems that it has never taken off...
acme pet touched so many of us... we learned so much... and developed many friendships

I got started in Acme chat rooms, but it was mostly kids. Then I found the forums and yay, that was more fun for me. It was funny because it was so long ago most of us were just learning about internet courtesy and how to post without causing flame fests. People would come on with their normal prejudices about certain breeds with no idea that other folks LOVED those breeds. Wheeoooo, the carp would hit the fan!
Acme horse boards were fair and fun, but the dog boards were rough.
Remember how frightened we were when we realized acme was going to take down the board? Somebody started an interim site where we could meet until Felix got Stable Minds together. Marci, it's Shelby and WD40 you are thinking of. She and Acorn ought to get together and compare fox hunts.

I remember the kiddies who would come to acme.. they always started flame wars and arguments.
spring break was even worse!
the schools would put blocks on most internet sites, acme pet was one of the few that they allowed kids to go to.. and boy did we get them!

LOL, no, Britt, not like you, kids who were bored and there just to start flame-fests for their own personal entertainment... a wee bit different!

Yep, I started visiting boards just at the tail end of the Acme days before it went down and Felix started SM. We had just gotten Alexa's horse Caulder, and I had tons of questions about horse training, care, etc. Alexa was 9.
Ah, the memories.
