Farrier... was that one on Acmepet? I seem to recall seeing those fests before they moved to Liberty.

Farrier was on Acme, and he showed up at SM from time to time. Gosh that guy was annoying. And rude.

I started back in the acme chat room, but didn't know about the other board until later.
I actually met Tee in the acme chat room... turned out we lived about 2 miles apart. How weird is that!
That must have been early to mid 90s.

I remember Bl@ck Knight... all the girls seemed to go ga ga over him and I was never sure why. Must have been his name. He sent me his picture one time... oh my gosh.. I would have NEVER wanted him dating MY daughter  that guy was a bit creepy in real life. Trailrider... remember her? she has sold all her horses and retired.. I hear from her on my birthday every year connie... was on the dog board.. I used to run into her on a health board...she lives in chicago I used to correspond with blonde...she did some readings for me on critters.. and then got weird.. one day she told me that she had had THREE abortions.. all after she was married.... and I never felt the same about her |

I got to thinking about this the other day, too, as I remember when I was a teenager Acme Pet was my favorite chat room and got to meet a lot of great people and become pen pals with a few of those and stuff.
I'm 29 now, though, and just always wondered what happened to that site! Too bad to see it got shut down when the boards were deemed not profitable by PetSmart.
If anyone remembes me from the late '90s, though, the handle I usually went by was my first name, Brandon, or by a nickname I used in the chat boards, Frozen Tundra.
Long shot - but figure I would throw that out there.

I started years ago on Equichat, moved from there to Acme, from Acme to that terrible Liberty board, to Stable Minds and then after I had met up with Chris in KC during the American Royal, I landed here. And after Liberty I can say it was a very soft landing!

I started out on Acme, too. Right after the May 3rd, 1999 tornado in OKC. Why then? Well, because we spent part off the insurance money to buy our first new computer capable of accessing the internet. I was the one asking all the questions about how to care for/deal with the traumatic injuries my horses received.
I followed Acme to Stable Minds, and then here. For a while I was more active on SM than EF because I could not post on EF for some reason.
I've also noticed how slow SM has become, but I cannot say that I am surprised. The atmosphere over there has always been different. Sort of a "free-for-all" where posters can be as catty and rude as they want. Here at EF, we treat each other more like family, and I think that is why we have a consistent core group of posters, with more posters joining our "family" frequently.
And I do remember the teen drama, and the adult drama. Who was the young girl in FL who was always doing something worrisome? And Jess??? Not Oklahoma Jess, but one in NH??? Who spun a huge story.... And who was Wildfire, anyway???

I remember the Jess you are talking about ... She pretended she had a brain tumor ... And an abusive husband. Somehow her neighbor told us the truth... I can't quite remember the connection. She send me some morning glory seeds and horse bells ... She seemed nice to me but must have gotten very bored and needed to create drama. There was also a kid named Gina who pretended she had CF and one of our main posters child had it. She got found out too. Ran into her on another Midwest board a few years later.
I have been here since acme pet days ... I was always cody. Lil dot and I have been good friends all this time! It's amazing how many years have gone by already!

Hahaha, you were not on Liberty if you think SM was 'irregular'. Liberty started out pretty good, with smart savvy people. But since the board was not monitored it turned into a mess. I always felt like stepping into a bar with a bunch of drunks vomiting in buckets and pouring it over each others heads.
Good people left of course, most likely the board does not even exist anymore.

N*o - I tried Liberty - I think I followed a link there once or twice. Holy cow! No way could I ever survive there!
I have a hard time with COTH boards. They can even get too catty for my thin skin.
I know I did not start out as res - I hadn't thought of that.... I am not sure what my original posting name was. I don't think I "became" res until maybe 2001??? res are my daughter's initials, so I am pretty sure I didn't use that name until after she was born.
