Sneaking in here...
My name is Heather, I live in Iowa, have 5 purebred Arabs and 1 half Arab, with another PB on the way this May. I mostly trail ride, but have always wanted to show. So last year I took my yearling colt to his very first show (not class A), won a ribbon in halter, and now I'm hooked. I would love to learn to ride a good reining horse and possibly have some of ours trained in working western, and I have taken dressage lessons in the past. I haven't been able to do much riding in the last couple of years because I have a 2 year old daughter, but this next year I'm hoping my schedule will work out better so I can get out there more.
Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

Welcome, Heather! Good to meet you! Have you been lurking long? How did you find us? (I'm always curious about that....) You'll have to add your May baby to the thread about babies coming this spring. Nothing makes it feel like spring quite like foals! I'm glad you've joined us! Welcome!

Chris posted something on an Arab forum I'm on, I was curious since she's not too far away from me and followed her link over here I've been lurking a couple of weeks--just to get the 'feel' of the place and decide if I cared to post KWIM?

Hello! I'm Donna, 40 something, mom to five, soon to be three horses, a 15 year old schnauzer named Maggie and three kids, two now out of the house, the third one still in High School. My husband and I trail ride in the Colorado backcountry and Frontrange during the summer months. He takes jumping lessons on his draft cross Cody and I am taking English lessons with my draftcross Mason. We also have an Appaloosa, Wish, with a personality disorder, great trail horse, very cranky otherwise...lol All my horses have come from rescue type situations except for one. I have two leaving next week for new homes and then I won't be doing rescue work anymore for a while. It breaks my heart when they leave... I remember Chris and Star from Acme, she wrote some really interesting stories. Several people from here also post on another list that I post on. Hello!!!! There is a a horse ANGEL on this list! Hi Jess! I am always looking for advice on training. I got Mason when he was a weanling and have done all his training myself. Now we are venturing into English riding with the goal of someday doing crosscountry. I have lots of family in Oklahoma. Maybe I could meet some of you in person at your group gathering. ok, long enough! I'll bore everyone to death.... Donna

Hi Donna, I'll have to pick your brain for riding spots sometime. I live ne of Denver. I kind of a wimp and dont like to try a new spot unless someone who actually understands trailering says you can get a trailer back out of there fairly easily. I have a 93 dodge 3/4 ton and 14ft bumper pull and cannot just turn on a dime. Maybe we could even meet and ride somewhere, this summer if you brave the weekend crowds, I pretty much have to work M-F so I have to do that. Welcome to the board

Hello again. Ride4fun, there are some great trails just west of Boulder, Hall Ranch, Lion's Gulch, Big Bluestem are all less than 30 minutes from my house. My husband and I like to leave early in the morning and ride for several hours, then come home, unload the horses and eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant. Come join us! Mary Ann, I have always been just Donnat. Not real imaginative.....lol Thank you for the welcome! I want to pick everyone's brains about training a 4 year old. He is my first baby and we are learning together.

I'll introduce myself, for those that don't know me. My name is Stephanie, I have two horses (Appendix QH and breeding stock paint). I'm in the Air Force, I was stationed in NJ for three years, I've been in Korea since June 2006. Before NJ I went to college in NYC and before that I grew up on a farm in Ohio. I'll be starting my masters degree in Engineering Management in August of 2007, where I'll get to stay in Ohio for a year and a half. I'm engaged to another Air Force member (we're getting married September 8, 2007...09-08-07!), he'll probably make a career out of it, I'll get out once we start having kids. It would be hard for both of us to stay in anyway, because we're in the same career field so once we get past another promotion or two it will be nearly impossible for us to find jobs at the same base. I also have a cat here in Korea that I plan to take back to the states with me. Oh, and after I get out (if it's before kids) I want to be a teacher...or once the kids are old enough to go to school I'd like to teach. Preferably biology or chemistry, middle school or high school.

Hi Stephanie! It's great to see you here! Thanks for doing the introductions thing. And do know that on this board we're total pigs for pics; so if you have any of your horses, and maybe even of you, we'd love to see them! Again, welcome; we're glad to see ya!

Hi, Stephanie! Welcome to the group! Your horse looks gorgeous; I'm absolutely weak for bay horses, and hunters are a favorite! Glad to have you aboard!
