Oooo, I'm not good at trivia, but I think it was Wood that had enough. Ya know, Sosa's not an altogether bad guy, but he was never a very good fielder (IMHO) and with the corked bat and current steriod scandal, I don't think he'll be all that missed.

I'm thinking it was probably Wood, too, Zen. And with the walkout by Sammy during the last game of the year, I think some Prima Donna Attitude became more public. On the one hand, I'm sad to see him go; he sold a lot of tickets during a time when there wasn't much else to watch. But you're right; with the corked bat and steroid scandal, he won't be missed. But the steroid thing is funny to me; when he was taking steroids, it was not illegal in baseball. It was illegal in every other sport, but not that one. It was frowned on, but it was sort of don't ask, don't tell. I don't see why he doesn't tell the truth; just look at the difference in the size of his neck and the lower part of his face from then to now! It's so easy to see that he was on them, regardless of how many hours he says he was in the gym. Did you see Mark McGwyre's testimony before Congress? It's clear to me now that I was rooting for the wrong guy years ago during the great home run race. Sham that it was. Ah, well. It's great to have you here, Zen! And Yip, it's wonderful to have you here, too! I'm so pleased to get to see some of my old friends again! I so look forward to being able to hear about you and Cookie, and all you do this summer! She must be fitting in fine, eh?

Hi! Thanks Chris for directing me to Equifriends. I'm so excited to become part of this community of horse addicted folks. It's good to know you're not the only person on the planet who lives and breathes horses on a daily basis.
I have two horses. Wish is my 8 year old 1/2 arab mare. I am currently breeding her to Chris's stallion Szybki. Wish is my trail horse. I like her an awful lot and hope to keep her forever and ever. I hope to bring up Wish's baby to be my CTR/Endurance horse.
My other horse is Scout. He's a paint who looks like he has some Arab blood. My husband rides Scout when he has time (not very often).
I have two kids. Martin is 18 and graduating from High School this weekend. He will attend UMKC this fall. Martin plays guitar in a band named Josephine. They have won the Blue Valley North Battle of the Bands twice and will play concerts in California this summer.
My daughter, Chelsea, is a student and cheerleader at Cass Midway H.S. She'll be a junior next year and of course loves to shop so she's a fashion queen. I'm hoping she'll study law when she goes to college as she is very good at closing arguments.
My husband, Craig, is wonderful. He is not horse obsessed like me yet puts up with me and even mows trails for me to ride out back.
Hey I also have a white lab who I bred to a yellow lab and she's going to have puppies next week. Anyone want a lab? Both my dog and the father of the pups have great dispositions (what lab doesn't, though). I'm selling the pups for $100 each. They will not be registered as my dog is not registered, but the other dog is registered, if that helps justify the value. The puppies will be ready early to mid July.
I look forward to becoming part of this equestrian community and am thankful that it's available!

Troylynn, I'm so pleased you'd come be a part of our group! Sounds like you're one of us! I can hardly wait to hear the play by play for your impending Szybki baby! BTW, I have a daughter that's very good at closing arguments, too. She's not contentious, but she can be a bulldog about certain things. Welcome!

Hey, folks! I finally made my way over here. I was part of the Acme crew years back, still a regular on Stableminds.
I don't own my own riding horse, but I ride at a local hunter/jumper barn. Working out there once a week now for a couple rides, and have my regular lesson on Saturdays. It's marvelous.
I owned a racehorse, Makors Mark, who is now standing stud in Washington state. My dad and I recently decided to sell our shares in him because we don't have mares and really aren't benefitting him or us by owning shares. But I'm still going to visit and take photos, and he has some ADORABLE babies on the ground. I'm going down to visit this Sunday and will come back with lots of photos!
I'll be starting vet school at Washington State University in August. Pretty exciting! Will be quite a change -- I've lived in Seattle my entire life. But hey, nothing wrong with a little change now and then. I'm a bit nervous, but looking forward to it.
Guess that's it. Happy to see some familiar faces here, and looking forward to meeting some new horsey folks!

Hi I haven't been in here in a long time. For some reason it wouldn't let me log in. I don't think I did anything to get banned. Anyway, I'm back and I missed you guys.

Hey all..great to see so many familiar handles here. I was with the old Ack for many years and other boards. I got blocked out for some bizarre computer reason and haven't been able to access some of my old favourites. For those who don't recall this little mousie: I'm up in Alberta, Canada, am involved with horse racing and have an addiction to taking pics of drafters.
Looking forwards to reading all the threads over the next few days.
