Completed! I'm doing Couch to 5k and ChaLEAN Extreme simultaneously, I'm following the schedule for both and started three days ago. So I ran, did a video, ran, did a video. Tomorrow I'll do a video and run both.

Day 5 done! I did the cardio video for ChaLEAN extreme today, so no running. My run days will be Thursday, Saturday, and Tuesday because that matches up with the two rest days for my videos. At least until I move on to the next segment where the rest days change up.

Day 6 done! Today was more running and a weight video. No running tomorrow, but another video. My first week of couch to 5k is completed and no shin splints so far!

Day 7 done...no running today, just the cardio video for my Chalean extreme, and man, it was hard, even if it was only 25 minutes! I also rode Lady for 20 minutes today, I burned over 350 calories between tacking up, riding, and cooling down.

Tell me more about the couch to 5k? I've walked a ton of 5ks - usually do 4-5 a year and a couple of 10ks, but I can't run them. How can I learn to run them?

This is the program www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml Basically the first week you walk for 5 minutes, then you jog 60 seconds and walk 90 seconds and alternate until it's been 20 minutes. Tomorrow I'll start running 90 seconds and walking 120 seconds. You build up really gradually and if you are tired or sore you can repeat a week if you need to. I normally get shin splints really, really easily so this is very good for me. So far I'm doing really good with this. I know a lot of people have done it successfully too!

I bet you can...it's good for people that think they can't run and for people that think they can (like me, who starts out doing too much too fast and gets hurt, lol). Keep us posted!!!

Day 8 completed! Just did a run today, first day of the second week of couch to 5k. No run tomorrow, just a video.

Day 9 done! Today was a rest day from running and a solid weight video for Chalene Extreme. I'm going to be a lot more sore from this because I was a lot better about picking the correct weight for my fitness level based on my notes from last Thursday.
I've already had to tighten my heart rate monitor belt a little bit!

I took yesterday off completely, no running, no Chalean extreme. Today I ran and did a Chalene extreme video (and rode) so between those three activities I burned 1,000 calories in exercise, lol.

Thanks! I've been waiting 2 years to be able to work out and now that I can I'm not taking a moment for granted. I just realized that my butt has gotten a lot firmer, lol, I saw it in the mirror and was like, whoa, is that my butt??? I have done a lot of squats in the last two weeks so it's no wonder I'm seeing a difference in my butt!

Today I took Logan and Jilly on a 2 mile walk and did a cardio/weight video from Chalean extreme, it rotates through a cardio exercise and then a weight (very light weights with high reps) exercise for 45 minutes of torture. I burned 400 calories doing it, lol.

Week 2 of couch to 5k done!!! And no shin splints!!!!!!!! I also did a video today, I showed C my arms and he said, you had another arm video today, didn't you? I'm getting ripped, lol.
