I skipped Wednesday's video because I ran and it was too much cardio. So day one of week 3 couch to 5k is done. I did a Chalene Extreme video today so I am now in week 3!

Yesterday I did my run...C ran with me, maybe I should say "ran" since this week it's walk 5 minutes, run 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds, run 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes, run 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds, run 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes. He wore his GPS watch though so we knew that we ran 1.8 miles for the exercise portion (then walked more to get the rest of the way home, lol) and my pace was pretty much exactly 10 min/mile for each of the run portions. Overall I felt great despite the cold (40ish degrees) and pushing Logan, lol. I also did a weight video yesterday.
Today was a day off of running and I did an interval video (weights and cardio mixed together). Just one more week of Chalene Extreme Burn segment to go after tomorrow's video (and then I move on to a different set of videos within the program). I'm going to skip the straight cardio video again this week because my legs are just too tired doing the running and the cardio video. I'll also be riding 2 horses 3 or 4 days a week so I don't think I'll really miss it!

Thanks! I haven't lost anymore weight, but tightened my belt a notch and the difference in my arms is amazing. DH keeps telling me we should have done before/after pics. I only did a weight video today, it's supposed to be 52 tomorrow so rather than run when it feels like 35 I'll wait a day! Week 3 of Chalean extreme done, one runaway from finishing week3 of c25k.

Finished week 3 of Couch to 5k today...it felt *good* to actually stretch my legs and *run* on the running parts. C said we were doing 8-8:30 pace for the run portions. No shin pain whatsoever too! I'll take a day off and then start week 4! I'll also start week 4 of Chalean extreme on Friday too.

Week 4 is officially started!!! Did my weight video and ran. The jump in running for couch to 5k this week seems big, but it was pretty easy. I definitely ran too fast when I ran with Craig, my right shin hurt a little when I started out but was fine by the end. Of course, by the end my left shin hurt a little. Hopefully it's just a little muscle soreness and not shin splints beginning.

Yesterday was a rest day. Today I did my second C25K workout this week (one more to go!) and another weight video. My shins hurt just a little bit doing the run, and only toward the end. So if they hurt at all next run I'm going to repeat this week until they don't hurt any longer. Definitely not adding running while I have any shin pain!

Weight video today (it had cardio too but my shins were a little sore so I skipped that since it was bothering them). I'm going to take tomorrow off from running and then go back to last week's run the next run. Last video tomorrow and I'm done with 4 weeks of Chalean extreme! One more run and I'm done with 4 weeks of couch to 5k!!! I have maintained an exercise program for 27 days as of today.

Did my video today...all of my weights were high enough that I could do 12 reps but was saying holy crap! by the end of the set. I feel kind of sad about finishing my first segment of Chalean extreme...I have no idea why...there are two more segments to go, but it feels kind of like graduating from high school or college...maybe a little bit like leaving an old me behind? Weird. C doesn't understand it either. My shins are hurting randomly...not constantly but every now and then one will let me know it's there. Still planning to run tomorrow, but do week 3's run, not week 4's.

I ended up doing my real run for today, shins felt great (I've been putting Comfrey salve on them every day) until the very end, then there was a little bit of soreness, so we'll see how they feel after two days off. Next run will be Saturday...not sure what I'll do yet. I'll keep putting the comfrey salve on and hope it keeps working! Down a whole clothing size though, and a belt notch!

When Chalene Johnson named the second segment of ChaLEAN Extreme "Push" it wasn't just a cutesy name that she picked randomly...O-M-G!!! Before we were doing 10-12 reps. Now it's only 6-8 which means I have to lift a lot heavier to fail at 6-8 reps...and she goes slooooooooow. I want to go back to the last phase! My first push video was yesterday and I also ran. I did the real run, run 5 minutes, walk 3, run 5, walk 3, run 5. My left shin hurt a little by the end, but feels fine today.
Logan and I went on a bike ride today, while C ran, we helped pace him and yelled encouragement to keep his pace up. Logan was yelling "Goooooooooo, Dada" the whole time, it was soooo cute!
Tomorrow I'll run and I think I have a video.

Today I ran...felt pretty good, right shin hurt a little (last time it was left, lol). Walked 5 minutes, ran 8 minutes, walked 5, ran 8 minutes, then walked 5 minutes (at least, lol). I did a weight video today too. I also rode! Just walked mostly with a little trotting because the footing sucks.
I also started drinking green smoothies again yesterday (kale, spinach, banana, and fruit). My goal is one green smoothie a day.

Week 5 is DONE!!!! I did 20 minutes straight today!!!!!!!! I haven't run that long since I got pregnant, almost 3 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did 1.7 miles in that 20 minutes, and had done .3 miles during the 5 minutes of walking, so a total of 2 miles.
My shins were fine too. I'll take one or two days off and start week 6 Thursday or Friday.
Didn't do a video today because I rode this morning so I'll do it tomorrow since I don't do one tomorrow.

I never would have believed it if you'd told me I would one day do a workout video using nothing but 20-30 pound weights. However, that's what I did today. It was all shoulders, back, and legs, which are apparently really strong on me. So I am done with Week 5 of couch to 5k and Chalean Extreme now.
