Hi all, I am Amber Fort (kasaj2000), 30 something, about to have my first kid, so am grounded from riding at the moment. My hubby and I currently have 8 head of Arabians and APHA and one POA mare. We have a small breeding operation, located in Labelle, Florida (yea we survived the hurricane sagas). I have only been on a couple of 25 miles rides to date. One of which was completed with my favorite mount, Kaysa Jerry (JerryO). Aiming for some more 25's next year and maybe a fifty once I am back up and riding. Looking forward to meeting everyone here.

My business in finally "getting there" after many years of hard work. I love my Arabians but am not riding much until after baby #2 gets here in April. Hello, This is a great new board, yeah!
Lets see about me. Well I ride all disiplines, western and endurance. I train horses out of Meadow Vista, give clinics and judge schooling shows. During my "off" time I endurance ride when I get the chance. This year I was able to ride Tevis and the Virgina City and am hoping I get to ride it again next year. I have a stallion that is Polish, he is sired by *Probat and is my best friend in the whole world.

Sure hope I am adding myself on in the approriate spot! I have been going by the name "Gypsy" since the original Acme board started and carried over to SM and will continue it here. But, you can call me Cindy. I started horses later in life. Husband was military and we moved not to often but the finances stayed tight with 3 kids to raise. When he retired and we "supposedly" settled on a small acreage in Iowa the horse craze began. I bought Gypsy for my 38th birthday in 1995. (If you want to figure out my age you will have to do the math...... ;D In 1996 or 97 we moved to another town in Iowa more centrally located to my family. Well that is what they think, it was located closer to all the good trail rides. LOL! In the end of 2000 I decided trail riding wasn't enough. I decided to dabble in barrel racing. I did this for a couple of months and then decided it wasn't for me....until the following spring. I thought I would see what Chloe and I could do. We were doing okay for 2 TEXT competitors and technically rider and very young horse. With Grits encouragement I entered the NBHA State Show. We won a saddle/belt buckle/sports boots/a Wildcard to the World Show, and a nice chunk of change. I have been running the road hard since. I have not yet completed a full season of barrel racing. So far, every year has brought something into my life to not allow a complete year. Broken hip, sick mother, grandbaby, moving, not moving......etc., etc. I am hoping this coming year will have no interferences so Chloe and now Jazz and I can see what we are made of. Guess this is me in a nut shell.

Hi everybody...both those of you who I already know and those of you that I don't yet know. This is my first attempt at a message board, so bear with me!
I'm 40 something and have had horses since I was 11. Chris got me interested in CTR and endurance about 6 years ago and I've become a junkie. I do MOTDRA and AERC rides. I live in Olathe, KS, near Kansas City and patch up riders for a living. ;-)
I have two geldings, Frisky, an Arab, and Nitro, a quarterhorse, and 2 cats.

Oh Val, you're Baraq's new mom??! At StableMinds we've been privileged to watch Baraq en utero, witness his birth, laugh at his coltish ups and downs, and then he was sold. I'm so pleased to get to get The Rest Of The Story now, straight from the horse's mouth! Don't be stingy with the Baraq stories, okay?

Chris - Remember me? I'm Terri who came out with Stephanie one time and we took some CTR lessons from you. I STILL am in love with the sport even thought I don't participate - only once. My life has not permitted it or....is that just an excuse? Anyhow, thanks so much for this website. I like your ethics already and I know you will do a great job. You are so ambitious! We have Missouri Fox Trotters and I love all breeds of horses. We are getting a new trailer in two weeks so maybe I can start making some of the rides in '05! I'm not sure if I have the "right" distance horse yet. I need to start looking. I'm 48 years old, JUST had a hysterectomy and feeling a bit older right now (gads!) but we have 52 acres, 8 horses, cats and two dogs, one of which is a Shiba Inu named Yogi. I love all animals as that is what we probably all have in common on here. Looking forward to reading the posts.

Mag's Mom aka: Leslie stopping in to say hello and I had to come over after the nice invite, thank you Chris. Chris lives west of me, closer to Colorado ;D. I've ridden hunt seat since I started riding at age 8 but have dabbled in local level WP and now haul kiddo out on a youth rodeo circuit. (Had to learn an entire new "lingo" since shouting out "Tally-Ho" after she rounded the third barrel wasn't cutting it. ;D ) Presently down to two full size horses- a little palomino mare which I defaulted to from kiddo and her new mare a veeeery cool appaloosa. Also have two miniatures- a 35" gelding which pulls a cart and an 18 month old spare, soon to gelded, 31" guy. Chris- I think this site is heavily dominated by Arab's!!! Are you going to let a TB loving but presently only owning stock type person like ME hang out here for real? ? Next............

I'm next, I'm also a Leslie, I'm 32, have two horses, Tuff my coming 3 year old BS paint and Clyde my appy cross. They are both geldings. Clyde is retired and Tuff is not yet started under saddle so, I'm currently grounded since my main man that I have had for 19 years died. Fire my qtr died august 27th of this year. I have a little girl named Alyssa and I live in Arkansas. I think that was one big run on sentence but you get the idea. Nice to see some new faces!

Well I wish I had a lot of Baraq stories, but mostly all he's had to do around my place thus far is EAT!!! ;D I'm not planning to ask him to do much of anything until next year, then I'll start taking him on practice camp-outs... My farrier (who is NOT an Arabian fan!) had the highest compliment to pay to Baraq when he 1st saw him standing at my back gate -- he thought he was a QH colt!!! also very impressed w/his nice manners, but of course that is Chris's training, not mine. I am still figuring out my new digital cam but I'll try to post some pix...

My turn! I am Patti, a 31 year old mother of a 13 month old boy, one green-broke but promising 6 year old Arab mare, a super trail/camping 12 yr old TWH cross, a 27 year old Shetland pony, one rooster, one potbellied pig, two dogs, two cats, and one cockatoo.
I started riding seriously when I was around 13, and did hunt seat and lots of local level showing till I was around 25. Took a break from owning horses for a few years (still rode all the time), but then discovered endurance riding just around the time we had bought our own property. Endurance to me, combines my love of trail riding, with just a hint of competition, or (more importantly) goal setting. Did 4 LDs with my TWH and realized between her confirmation and my extra weight we'd never be anything but turtles in the 25...that is without risking her health in the process. So I bought a just this side of wild Arab mare (4 at the time)...2 months before I got pregnant. So we had lots of time to do ground work and for me to earn her trust. She was started under saddle officially last March. Between the summer heat, vacation, oh and hurricanes she had a long summer break (almost 2 months), but was ridden last week and with a camping trip this weekend we will (hopefully) be on track to do our first LD in late December or January.
Btw, I live in Fellsmere, FL (near Vero Beach)....which is right were Frances and Jeane hung out for awhile last month. Very lucky here, LOTS of pasture work and fence work to be done, but the good ole '57 Cracker house did just fine. ;D

Hi! I'm Vicki. Currently I live in Ft Leavenworth, KS. I'm 30 years. My husband and I are the proud parents of a 7 week old daughter, Rachel. We have an 8 year old Arabian mare, Goldie. She is currently with my mom in Michigan. I haven't been able to ride since April so my mom has been keeping her in shape for us. I grew up doing CTRs and Endurance in Michigan. I just got back into the sport a couple years ago after an 8 break due to college and the military. If there is anyone in the Eastern Kansas area who has an extra horse to be ridden just ler me know and I will gladly ride him.
