A lot of the weight gain will be internal, before you can see any outward change. But, I notice one thing---she shines!
It would be a great time to take a look at one of Deb Bennett's books on confirmation, since you can see an outline of some of her bones. It would be easy to measure some of the angles and the lengths of those bones in her hip and shoulder and get an idea of how that will affect her movement. It doesn't change anything, but it would be good education that might come in handy sometimes when you are evaluating a horse that has those joints better disguised.
She looks like a proud mare--one that will do you justice. Thank you for taking her in.

Looking better already. The lighting is different but now you only see the backbone, especially from tailhead to hip on the shadow side, it disappears in the bright light.

Looking better. Slowly is definitely the best way to get her back up to weight. Can tell she is getting good nutrition by her shine! She is so lucky she was chosen by you

Oh yes, went back and looked at the first pics. She is starting to fill in. She also doesn't have that "lost look" to her eyes. Keep up the good work!! Looking forward to more photos down the road for this girl as she improves.

Happy mare now and already noticeably filling in. Your family are surely her heroes.

Lots of improvement, once again. I enjoy looking at your pictures. She should have another good ten years under saddle. I bet she is getting stronger each day. Can you start leading her over logs or poles to work those core muscles? Or, put the poles.in.a lane that she has to navigate daily? Actually, it would be good exercise for all your senior citizens. They need to keep those muscles in good shape to support their backs.

Wonderful pics please do keep them coming as long as you have time. I love how she is standing relaxed with just the cocked ear on you as well as the improvement in her body score.
When I got Lady, D's mom had thought she was 12 and the vet that did her health papers guessed 10, Shade was 11 at that time so I went "ok I'll call Lady the same age as Shade so I only have to remember one age" So now they are both 17 on the brand inspections etc.
