This stuff is fantastic, but making it is quite the project. It starts by having to get the pits out of a bucket of plums. I hope when my plum tree starts bearing, I sure hope the plums are bigger than these I get from a friend. One of the jars broke in the canner. I also had to calculate the number of square inches in a cylinder to figure out how many cups of plums I had so I could adjust the recipe. I had about 27 cups of plums all pitted and cooked down. The good news is that I am going to have enough sauce to last a long time.
And, unlike last time, I did not spill the plum sauce allover the floor and under the stove. Compared to that, a broken jar in the canner is small stuff.
