Donna, we need an update. Tell us more about how everything went and how much better you feel already. Circulating blood is a good thing.

I suspect that being unconscious and on a heart lung machine for several hours has taken its toll and Donna is not up to remembering passwords to log on to pro boards just yet. When I had relatively minor hysterectomy surgery several years ago it was a few weeks before I was ready to go to work and concentrate.
Here is the FB post from her daughter on Wednesday.

It's 3:00 am. I'm starting to feel human again. I have a new aortic valve and a new aortic root. I also have a new mitral ring and a big chunk removed from my heart muscle. I had surgery on Tuesday, I think they will let me out of the hospital on Tuesday. It will be a long recovery. I'm grateful to be alive. When they opened me up it was s bad as they feared. But that is behind me now. God is good, life is good. Blane had promised me the Colorado trail in 2017. Although at the moment it seems impossible, I am determined to make this the ride of a lifetime, ❤️ ?❤️

Donna, we are all cheering for you. I knew you had some heart problems, but had no idea that it was this extensive.

Oh Donna, what a huge deal! Did they do it arthroscopically? I hope they didn't have to crack your chest! I'm guessing each day you feel a little better, but I'd be grateful for an update. How's your recovery coming?
Thinking of you.... (((((HUGS)))))

Hi gang. I'm in my fourth week of recovery. Two steps forward, one step back. I'm still on oxygen and painkillers but I'm constantly trying to wean off both. I started cardiac rehab last Friday. 20 minutes on a treadmill, 20 minutes on a recumbent bike and 20 minutes of weight lifting movements sans weights. The class ate my lunch! I go weds and Fridays for now and will add Monday's when a space opens up. I'm grateful to be alive. I get really frustrated that recovery is so slow but this was my third open heart surgery and healing is not going to be easy. I'm very cranky and quite irrational at times. Funny but bizarre at the same time. I miss Sam so much, all our hard work this past year to ride my beloved trails had paid off wonderfully, I can't help but wonder what he thinks, it all came to such an abrupt end. I can't drive for several more weeks but a couple friends and hubby have hauled me out to see him a few times now. I have to be very careful, one hit from his big goofy head or a shove could have me back in the hospital and set recovery time back. Life is good and the surgery was timely. I'm lucky things have played out the way they did. God must love me.
