Dangerous because even higher quality dark chocolate bars will start to taste waxy if you make a few batches of this.
3/4 half and half 2 cups sugar 2 tablespoons corn syrup or honey 1/2 cup of cocoa 2 tablespoons rum 2-3 teaspoons cinnamon 3/4 to 1 teaspoon chili powder. 4 heaping tablespoons of nutella
Boil the milk/cream, sugar, syrup and cocoa powder to softball stage (about 5 minutes) add the rum and spices and stir in.
Add the nutella and beat until its starting to cool and set up. Pour into cooking oil sprayed dish(es).
You can substitute vanilla and peanut butter for the rum and nutella or skip the spices. The base recipe I started with called for peanut butter but that doesn't go as well with the rum.
This recipe is almost as failproof as the chips and sweetened condensed milk. I made it once with only 1/2 cup of milk and it was powdery but I just threw it back in the pan and added some liquid and brought it back to a boil and rescued it. It can be a little bit soft or borderline crumbly if you barely get softball or boil it to hardball stage but its not the fussy recipe I remember from childhood where you just boil heavy cream and butter with the sugar and can end up with syrup or rock hard candy.
