My friend Robyn, at Columbia Basin Knot Company, (just south of Spokane, WA) has this website. She has all the rope and materials you need to make your own horse stuff.

In the past, halters for some of the big-name trainers have been made right there in her workshop. So, she can tell you which rope this trainer or that trainer uses.
