Great tutorial on shaping eyebrows.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when women remove so many hairs in their brow line that they look freakish. Eye brows are not supposed to be tweezed in such a narrow line that they look like a fine line.

Eyebrow Shaping Tips
Different Eyebrow Shapes
There are five basic eyebrow shapes that can be used to accentuate or modify facial features. Choosing the right brow for your facial shape is very important – choosing the wrong shape can be quite unflattering. For example, a highly arched, angled brow can make a round face appear more oval but the same brow will make a long face look even longer.
The five basic brow shapes are:
Round: With a gentle, rounded arch, this shape softens angular faces with sharp features such as pointed chins.
Sharp Angled: With a high, sharp peak, this brow opens up the eye giving a youthful appearance. It is a strong brow that can help balance strong features such as a square jaw and give a slimming appearance to a round face.
Soft Angled: Still fairly high, more rounded peak give a softer, more delicate look.
Curved: This brow has a slight curve between the inner corner and the arched peak giving a strong appearance which works well to balance a square face.
Flat: This minimally arched, horizontal brow works well with long faces making them appear more oval.
So, now that you are familiar with the different eyebrow shapes, how do you know which will best suit your features? The first thing to do is identify your face shape.
Different Face Shapes
OK, it's time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Remove all makeup and pull your hair back and take a long, objective look in the mirror. Your face will probably not look exactly like any of the basic shapes, however, you should be able to identify which shape yours is most similar to and then follow the recommendations for that shape.
There are six basic face shapes and knowing which one your face most closely resembles is the key to determining which eyebrow shape will be most flattering for you.
The six basic face shapes are:
Round
Long
Square
Heart-Shaped
Oval
Diamond-Shaped
If you are having trouble identifying your face shape, here are some tips that might help you:
If your face is widest at the cheeks and appears almost as wide as it is long, your face is probably round.
If your forehead, cheeks and jawline are all about the same width, your face is probably long. If your jaw is also square, your face is probably square.
If your forehead and cheeks are about the same width and your chin is narrow and tapered to a point, your face is probably heart-shaped.
If your chin is slightly narrower than your forehead and tapers to a narrow oval with prominent cheeks, your face is probably oval.
If your face is widest at the cheekbone and your forehead is short and narrow, with angular features and pointed chin, your face is probably diamond-shaped. (This is an uncommon shape.)
The Best Brows for Your Face
Now that you have determined what your predominant face shape is, it's time to figure out which brow shape will best enhance your features.
The following guidelines will give you an idea of what brow shape is best and worst for each face shape. It's certainly alright to have fun and experiment with different eyebrow shapes, but to find the most appealing look you'll be comfortable wearing every day you'll want to follow these rules.
Shaping Eyebrows to Flatter Your Face
Round Face
Best brow shape: High arch, angled with a short tail to give a slimmer appearance.
Worst brow shape: Round eyebrows will only make the face appear even more round.
Long Face
Best brow shape: A more horizontal, flat brow makes the face appear more oval.
Worst brow shape: High arch, angled brow with a short tail only exaggerates the length of the face.
Square Face
Best brow shape: Angled or curved, with a sharp peak to draw attention away from the square jaw.
Worst brow shape: A square jaw needs to be balanced. A round, delicate brow will not provide balance.
Heart-Shaped Face
Best brow shape: Rounded, to soften the pointed chin.
Worst brow shape: Flat, horizontal brow.
Oval Face
Best brow shape: This face shape can accommodate a variety of brow shapes. Soft, angled brows are particularly flattering.
Worst brow shape: A brow that is too highly arched.
Diamond-Shaped Face
Best brow shape: An angled, round or curved brow with a peak to narrow the appearance of wide cheekbones.
Worst brow shape: Flat, horizontal brow makes the face look short and wide.
How to Arch Eyebrows
There are three measurement guidelines to keep in mind when determining the proper way to arch your eyebrows. The following illustration gives a visual representation of these measurements:
Brow Shaping
To determine where the brow should begin, imagine a straight line from the outside edge of your nose up to the inside corner of your eye. The inner corner of the brow should begin along this line.
To determine where the tail of the brow should end, imagine a straight line from the center of the upper lip, along the outer edge of the nose, up to the outer corner of the eye. The tail of the brow should end at this line.
To determine arch placement, imagine a straight line from the tip of the nose through the middle of the pupil. The eyebrow should arch where that line intersects with the brow.
Your Best Look
Well-shaped eyebrows really do more to enhance your appearance than any other facial feature. The right brow shape can make your face appear slimmer; eyes appear larger and more youthful. Now you have the knowledge you need to identify your face shape and determine what eyebrow shape will highlight your best features.
