A very nice lady made these for me when I was away at school. I loved them so much she made another batch for me when I went back to school. Which I hoarded and did not share! Pecan Turtle Bar CookiesPreheat the oven to 350F. Crust2 c flour 1/2 c butter 1 c brown sugar pecans- as many as you like Combine the flour and brown sugar, cut in the butter with a pastry cutter. Mix and press evenly in an ungreased 8x8 pan. Sprinkle the pecans over the crust. Caramel2/3 c butter 1/2 c brown sugar Heat the ingredients in a sauce pan and cook over med heat for 5 min. Pour the caramel over the crust. Bake in the oven for 18-20 or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. You can let the chips melt and swirl them over the top with a knife. ETA I just made these and think the shortbread needs to be baked 12-15 min before adding the caramel on top!
