Besides running a scan disc and defragmenting the computer to help speed things up, I found these directions on line to help the speed of my bogged downncomputer at start up.
Go to the START Menu, click on RUN and type in MSCONFIG, then click OK, this will pop up a little window and up at the top of it you will see a few tabs, one of these will be called START UP. In there you will find a list of all the programs that start when your computer starts up, next to every item in the list you have the option to check or uncheck a box. If you do not want a program to start at startup, uncheck it then click APPLY.
I unchecked all of those that were checked.
