Just about the time I think I have all the cactus pricks out of my fingers, I will get another infected (?) sore.
What do YOU use to draw out infection?

We used to put a chunk of raw bacon fat over it, that would also draw out things like bee stingers.

My dad used to put the bacon on my bee stings. it never did a thing... really!! Maybe I should buy some bacon today. I put straight 32% hydrogen peroxide on it last night. Ouch. then slathered on Rawleigh Salve and wrapped it over night. I sure have an angry sore this morning. Looks like a red volcano. All of them have done this.

A warm potato poultice will help. Grate a potato very fine into a microwave safe bowl and warm it in the microwave. Lay a spoonful on the area, cover with a plastic wrap and then with a very warm towel. Then go read or watch TV for a couple of hours, replacing the towel when it gets cold. This is a good link www.healing-from-home-remedies.com/make-a-poultice.html

LOL my folks were depression era kids and both the youngest in their families. All the older kids were the "test models" By the time the youngest kids came along everyone knew what worked.

Ithomal, the black sauve you use on horses. It works great. I also udt ebsomsalts too but put the ithomal on in between. Ithomal is a human med too but it is much cheaper to get the stuff for horses and it's the same thing.

bread milk poultice...... my grandma used to swear by this and it really works. You take a piece of bread and soak it well in warm milk, put it on affected area, and I usually wrap with some saran wrap to contain the mess. Leave it on there as long as ya can.....take it off and almost always the redness and swelling from the area is gone for me. I have also used it for those huge -hard- under- the- skin- pimples- you -cant- get- to- pop that I seem to get about once a year. My dad has used it for the occasional boil on his leg too. simple, cheap, and works! good luck!

Tonight I am wrapping the last wound in milk and bread. I squeezed and squeezed... just like I have always done with the others... they finally cleard up. this one had a soft white core that I pulled out with a tweezers.

Trailpal, I bet you had a cool childhood. Bacon works wonders. Put raw bacon on an infection and go to sleep wake up with no infection. I’ve done it countless times (nail biter who gets infected hangnails)

Anyone have any tips for a infected gum from a broken tooth? Dentist is not a possibility rn due to work and no insurance. Salt water swish 4x daily has helped somewhat, but I want this gone!!
