I know I should try this first, before posting it, but I picked up a recipe book at the thrift store. One of those recipe books that has recipes from REAL people, local people, and those recipes are their favorites.
My mil had made a grean bean lasagna years ago from a recipe she was given from Weight Watchers and it was fantastic. I have never been able to find the recipe, but plan to make this one up real soon.
Green Bean Lasagna
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 cup chopped onion
8 oz tomato sauce
1 can french style green beans- drained
1/4 tsp oregano
dash of garlic salt
dash of pepper
1 tsp basil
1 tsp parsley
4 oz can of mushrooms
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup cottage cheese
Combine the green beans and cottage cheese and set aside.
Brown the hamburger and onion and drain.
Combine the tomato sauce, spices and mushrooms into the hamburger, mixing well.
Layer in a 2 quart greased casserole, the meat, beans and cheese and the mozzarella cheese making 2 layers.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
