My old lady's pedigree!

I'm weirdly excited about this... I've been wishing I could find Nihra's papers just to look at her pedigree.

Well.... today I was pecking around Dreamhorse for kicks, and I came across a lovely Morgan gelding so just looked and oh my gosh!! His father's name looked very familiar... but not quite right. But the sire's father was Beamington, who I *know* is Nihra's grandfather as well. Sire was Windover Winterhawk... oooo, SO close.

And the name Windover Regency popped in my head. STRONG. And stuck. So I did an all breed search and good golly there's Windover Regency, a black Morgan stallion and his mother's name was The Black Rose, which is another name I knew! I'm 99% positive now, that Windover Regency was Nihra's sire, g-sire Beamington, g-dam, The Black Rose. All the names just flipped the ol' memory switch.

So... Tee, you'd asked me before about her bloodlines, there's one half!

Genealogy of the horsey kind! Wish I had some way of tracing Caoilainn's background. I KNOW she's got some strong instincts toward reining, herding....some kind of cow work. Not that I want to do that, but it would be cool to know some history.

If I wanted to pay for membership for just that, I'm sure I could. I already emailed the AMHA and the last owners of Windover Regency. Everything is perfect... black, right age, right dam's name and sire's name, was in the PNW... and the name popped into my head, just seeing 'Windover'. I'm just as positive as I can be without written confirmation! I hope one of them gets back to me so I can be 100%.

Ohh he is PRETTY!!!! I know the Morgan my friend was given HAS to have papers someplace. She is a really pretty horse and so typical Morgan it screams. LOL Funny enough when I told her someone wanted to board a horse in my barn (neighbor across the street) she said well you can't cause you are going to have another horse there. I'm going to give you Lady. Blew me away. I really really like that mare and yeah could defiantly see me riding her for years-ones I get her feet fixed.

That is soooo cool!!! I've been researching back on Aries' pedigree and it's been interesting. A world of difference in how he's bred (a lot of saddlebred back in the 30's and 40's) and how Remy is bred.

Now you just have to find the other half! LOL

I don't know....probably when it starts raining and horses get to be hard to care for.....But you know its OK if she figures out how to keep them all too since it means I just go to her house and ride Lady and don't have to pay fr her upkeep. LOL Or she could bring her here and her ride Shadow-they do REALLY well together. But she will defiantly need boots on our gravel roads.

There is no Windover Regency in the morgan database. There is no Windover anything. There are, however, lots of Windhover horses.......including a black stallion, Windhover Regency 31036.

And sorry! I should have updated this, but yesterday I got an email back from the stud's last owner, and they confirmed he was her pop, and even went so far as to send me her full pedigree from the AMHA databaase.

My mare is number 11 on your list.

You know I think this Morgan Mare my friend has probably came from Dean Mt Morgans in Reedsport. I think she is about 12 and they dispersed a few years back. She looks like the younger bay stallion they were standing.

It wasn't nearly as bad as trying to search for an arab on the cd when you don't know how to spell their name.......LOL.........

It's odd, though, the stud's final owner (in fact, they list they still have frozen semen and he died in 1997?), says he had 256 registered get. I wonder why the discrepancy.
