Our friend Nate gave me this recipe and it is YUMMY! He brought this to a bbq we had and nary a bean was left. If I have time I soak the beans. If I am in a rush I use canned. Sometimes I use different kinds of beans. You can make this in a crockpot.
1 lb ground beef 1/2 lb bacon 1 c chopped onion 1 31 oz can of pork and beans 1 17 oz can of butter beans, drained 1 15 oz can of kidney beans, drained 1 can of great northern beans, drained 1/2 c barbeque sauce 1/2 c ketchup 1/4 c sugar 1 c brown sugar 2 tbsp of dried mustard powder 2 tbsp molasses 1 tsp salt 1 tsp chili powder 1 tsp liquid smoke
Preheat oven to 350F.
Fry the bacon until crisp, drain. Pan fry ground beef and onions until cooked and onions are translucent. In a large bowl combine all ingredients and mix well. Place in a baking dish and bake for 45 min or until heated through.

Very similiar to "Old Settlers' Beans" recipe I have, but without the dried mustard or chili powder. And yes, it is great for the crockpot.
