or gaining on the scale? Don't worry! Remember how you FEEL is what is important, not the numbers on the scale. Remember, that muscle and fat, pound for pound weigh the same, but take up different amounts of space. Wanna see 5 pounds of fat vs 5 pounds of muscle? Here ya go: Remember, FIVE pounds of muscle fits into the space taken up by about ONE to TWO pounds of fat!!

Yuck - like that makes me feel any better after 11 months of working out and still weighing the same and fitting into the same size pants. (I am joking, I know I am healthier, right?)

Good reminder, but that LOOKS disgusting!
Actually, according to what I have read, women really can only gain about 1-2 pounds a month of muscle. What happens is that when you first start strength training, your muscles do swell a little an the initial uptick is due to water retention in the muscles... but it is all good. In the end, those muscles help raise your basic metabolism!
