I had the WORST experience shopping for clothes last Friday! I had the complete opposite of a Non-Scale Victory, I had a NSD (non-scale disappointment). I had been to the doctor's office that morning and was weighed, and I was down 2 pounds, so I was excited! Later I went to buy a new pair of jeans, and I walked in the store wearing a pair of size 18 Seven jeans that I bought at that store 5 months ago. I was getting another pair of Sevens so I grabbed size 18's. I bet I tried on 7-10 pairs of size 18's and none of them fit! Now, I was WEARING that exact size in that exact brand of jeans when I walked in the store, not only did they fit just fine but were even a little loose, and that morning I was 2 pounds lighter! How is it possible that I went up a size???
Then the girl measured me for a bra, and I was a 38 C which is what I've worn for years (yes I have a big butt and small boobs). I grabbed 5 or 6 bras and guess what....all TOO SMALL!!! The girl measured me again, 38 C. She brought another girl over to measure me, 38 C. I bought a 40 D bra, and it's pinching the he!! out of me right this minute.
I think I'm in a weight/size alternate universe.....

aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggg! I've had that happen. The problem is, jeans stretch, the sneaky things! I have to hang all my clothes to dry (no dryer, sigh) and they stretch even more! My poor hubby had a rude awakening, we measured his waist and looked at the tag - talk about an alternate universe! We were going to order some Levi's online, but was too depressing.
I also get a lot of my things from Walmart - they are cheaply made and I suspect that sizing is very non-uniform batch to batch.

Well that's what I was thinking at first until I remembered I'd been lighter at my doctor's appointment. When I bought the 1st pair of jeans I was at my heaviest weight and I'm a good 7-10 pounds lighter than that now. But NOTHING explains how they measured me 3 times for a bra, got the same size every time, and even a size up feels too small. I was at Lane Bryant and their clothes are very consistent in quality. Also, Seven jeans are *specifically* made for larger women and are very flattering, so I doubt they have messed with the sizing.
I hate clothes...

Whatever happens, don't let it get you down.
Eventually, that will not be an issue.
But, if you let it get under your skin, it might be negative to your efforts, and then nothing CAN change.
It will change.
It will!

a man explained how jeans are cut at the factory to me several years ago... the cutting blade comes down on a gazillion 'sheets' of denim. By the time the blade goes through a bunch of them, the blade isnt as sharp and it wont be cutting exactly the same. some of the denim might get tugged or stretched. Sooooooooooo when we go to buy a pair of jeans, we can try on 10 pair of the same brand, size and style... and they might not all fit the same.
And of course like trailpal said.. they stretch over time from us wearing them.
you keep your chin up!!! your body might be going through some changes...... and depending upon where you are in your cycle... it could be temporary... if not... keep doing what you are doing... and it will all fall into place later and work itself out.

Another thing about the jeans is the kind of fabric. I bought the exact brand of jeans in denim and black, the black ones were too small. When I asked the store about it, they told me that the black fabric was processed differently. I'm not sure how, but they definitely didn't feel or fit the same.

Plus too they might now be made at a different factory, say in china where everyone is tiny. How odd with the bras.

LOL! Dusty - another thing we have in common - I'm a 38C too! LOL!
Clothing fits...Yes, I have found Walmart to have weird sizing. I have recently started buying clothes off eBay. I can buy good brand name new (I'm partial to Tommy Hilfiger) clothing for LESS than what I could buy at Walmart. I'm partial to TH because the sizing is always right and I can buy it without having to worry if it will fit or not. I always know that size 12 jeans made by Tommy Hilfiger will fit me. Of course, it would be nice if it were size 10.

Okay STOP THAT YOU WEIRDO FREAK! This is getting way strange how much we have in common.
Yeah it sucks to be the size I'm at, luckily I don't look it. My mom wears the same size and I'm told she looks much bigger than I do. All this extra weight is hung on a very tiny frame so it doesn't stick out as far, I guess!
