Bob Greene has a new website he's using in conjunction with his new book. You can try it for ten days free. Here you can figure your BMI, get exercise help, get custom tailoring for your diet needs, and find out if all your nutrient needs are being met. www.thebestlife.comI'm relieved to find out my BMI is still in the healthy range; but there's still too much of me. I'm going to cruise around this site more and I just might join. I like this common sense perspective.

I looked at it a bit, but not much.
I also looked at fitday.com - Chris mentioned it and I've heard of it frequently. I played on it a bit. I don't like the food tracker part - couldn't find the pepper jack cheese I ate this morning, etc - I would have liked it better if it gave me exchange info as well. I did like the exercise tracker and may implement that.

Oh fun! Thanks, Sheryl! When I was on WW I got a bunch of their cookbooks, too. I got a lot of ideas there. Most everything was really good, although they'd often do more calories than what I'd like. It was funny; while I was on WW, hubby lost ten pounds just living with me!

I just posted about it, but sparkpeople does all those things...but for free! When you sign up you fill out a profile about your activity level and what kinds of foods you want to eat and don't want to eat. It will calculate how many calories you need to eat to lose the weight for your goal weight/date. Then it will design an exercise program for you based on what activities you tell it you want to do. You can follow that program or you can do your own thing. Same thing with the foods, it will design a food program for you and tell you exactly what to eat for each meal (including recipes) or you can eat your own thing and enter them as you wish. It's great for people that are just getting started and have no experience with creating their own exercise/nutrition programs, or someone that just wants to follow a map and not have to figure it out for themself. Or you can turn the automatic stuff off and do your own thing.
I'm serious...everyone needs to check out sparkpeople.com!!!! Plus...it's FREE!!!!!
