Warning: They are a big pain in the butt to make and may result in cussful groaning. But...they're sooo goood...
Grind up 1 package of oreos. Blend with 8 oz of cream cheese. Make into little balls. Dip in white chocolate (or almond bark works-that's what I used). Set to dry. You can drizzle melted chocolate over them if you want the extra work.

Hey Stella; what would happen to the falling-apartedness if you made the balls and then froze them before dipping? Would there likely be less cussful groaning?

OK, what's the story here? I just thought they were pains with all the rolling of balls and what not, but do they have a tendency to fall apart? Do 'we' need to know that before starting so we know what we will be cussfully groaning about?

I'm just guessing here, T-leigh. If one was to cussful groan such a recipe, it seems like it'd be for falling apartedness.

To me, the worst part of making truffles is the dipping - it's a PAIN. BUT I have found that those plastic gloves make the process a BREEZE. Just don the gloves, then put a dollop of the melted chocolate in your hand and roll the truffle around in it. Also use the gloves to roll the truffles the firt time because your body heat will caue them to be too soft, but the gloves insulate them just enough to alleviate that issue ;D

Yes - the dipping is the awful part - but I found a great little tool that makes it soooooo easy! This could probably be found any where they have candy or cake making supplies - I know it's made by Wilton. It is a plastic "almost" fork - just has 2 tines - the rolled candy fits perfectly on it - just drop the candy in the melted chocolate, use this "tool" to move the candy around to coat it, lift it out, put it on wax paper, voila! No mess. Here's a link: it's the candy dipping set - sorry you have to cut and paste! www.wilton.com/store/site/department.cfm?id=3E3055E4-475A-BAC0-5952346A91838250&fid=3E306286-475A-BAC0-581AD38F5ABD2D31
