We're goign to our community potluck tomorrow. Usually they are just bring whatever.
But this time it is themed: soup and sandwiches.
There's almost always plenty of desserts.
I was thinking of some kind of sandiches, or tortilla roll up thingies. I made a good tortilla roll up with tuna salad.
Any other ideas?

All my current ideas revolve around my new crock-pot book--Fix it and Forget It. It will even have you baking bread and cakes in your slow cooker LOL. With 800 recipes to choose from, something always looks good! I can't remember ever being so inspired by a cookbook. Linda

Chris, I just bought the hardbound edition of cooking light 2006 recipes. Something like 600 recipes in that monster! I get so lost in looking through them, that I haven't even picked one out to try yet. I found it for $7 at a discount store called Ross. Anyway, if you narrow it down, I could look up a recipe for you! Might also try Allrecipes.com or recipezaar.com
A big hit at my cocktail party were the sandwiches made in pita bread. I cut the pita six ways so they were more snacky size, but you could just quarter or half them. I made two varieties, vegetarian and ham.
Vegetarian: hummous english cucumber slices feta cheese I stuck a toothpick through them and speared an olive on top
Ham: mini slices of cheese - I used cheddar on some and pepper jack on others and some cream cheese lean ham speared with a toothpick and topped with a cherry tomato
I am into soups right now. I love this soup I buy at Trader Joes called roasted bell pepper and tomato. How about making something like that?

Lavash roll ups:
carefully spread softened cream cheese on lavash bread cover with alfalfa sprouts cover sprouts with fairly thin sliced tomatoes cover tomatoes with smoked thinly sliced ham slices
roll up tightly and cut with a sharp cerated knife into 2 inch portions
why not soup Chris? I am still swooning over the wild rice soup at had at your house.
