I was just wondering what your favorites are. You know, the ones where it's just not quite Christmas without them. Any that you remember from when you were a kid? Did you ever bring cookie trays anywhere, or do you do that now? Homemade things really are the best, and so are the memories they make.

Oh! I do! I make cut out sugar cookies with the frosting thats just powdered sugar, water and food coloring. I make fudge. Little wedding cake cookies and pecan sandies. My favorites are ones that my Mom makes - 7 Layer cookies with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, sweetened condenced milk, coconut...yum.

A Christmas tradition growing up has been my Mom's fudge. She taught me how to make it last year... I have made 4 batches this past week or two. (the first two didn't turn out so well, but the last two?? PERFECT)
Oh and my Mom makes the best Banana bread in the whole world. I haven't learned to make that yet.

Jewell, those came straight out of the King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion. I have two wooden boxes full of recipe cards, and probably 300 cookbooks. (No kidding.) It'd be easier if you tell me what you'd like to make.

Chocolate coconut cookies --- do you mean the kind with oatmeal too where you pour the hot choclate syrup into the oatmeal and coconut mixture and drop? --those are often called haystack cookes or are you talking about a chocolate macaroon? --not sure if I got that 2nd one right.

Bake cookies? I am the cookie queen! I love to bake. My favorites at Christmas - have to have peanut butter balls (ok, they're more of a candy than a cookie), peanut butter kiss cookies, cocoa gingerbread cookies, sugar cookies, 7 layer magic cookie bars, and creamsicle fudge! MMMMM good!

I always make fudge, those seven-layer bars, peanut blossoms with Hershey's kisses in the middle, Mexican wedding ring cookies, date swirls, date bars, and authentic Finnish ginger cookies from my friend's recipe. I don't think I'm going to do everything this year, as last year I put bags of cookies in my freezer and had to throw them out eventually. I am definitely going to make fudge and the Hershey blossoms this year -- that's what the boys like the most. I've taken a batch of date bars to work.
