Got a question for ya With your turkey recipe...I cannot for the life of me, find a turkey sized browning bag. Meijer, Walmart, no place carries them up here! (MI) Could I just place tin foil over the bird and sorta 'tuck it in'? And also, out of curiousity...what is with the breast side down? Will it brown later during the 350 degree stage with it being down? Just asking...and thankyou in advance! I am tired of getting dry dry dry turkey from the in-laws!!!

I can't speak for Wildfire about the bags, but I know that many cooks put the bird breast side down so the darker meat bastes the white meat as it cooks. And actually, it's not upside down; it's how the chicken would walk if he wasn't in a pan. How you doin,' Bethy?

Well hubby rescued me, and found the turkey browning bags. Woohoo.
Our Thanksgiving here is today, as we've got hubby's family to visit on Thursday...
Now, so the bird is in the oven...and has been since about 7 last night. And while is smells sooo good, it looks like there is a ginormous amount of liquid that the bird is floating in. Like, this turkey is just over 18lbs and probably there is about 2" of liquid in the bag and in the pan. Is this okay, or should I drain some?
Sorry for the novice questions!
Oh and Mary Ann...I am doing well. You remember how I had the micro-preemie? Well guess what? I am preggers for another one (tho hopefully term!) due in May...not bad ya think? A 6 month old and already 3 months pregnant???
Oh woe is me, LOL
How are things in your neck of the woods?
