I had this at a Mexican restaurant the other day. I don't know if they made it this same way, but the taste was identical.
Step one--open a couple cans of black beans
Step two--if you like garlic, then chop up a clove and add it to the black beans
Step three--put the beans and the garlic in a slow-cooker or heat it in a pan on the stove
Step four--When everything is all cooked together, put the soup in a blender to make it smooth--or, heck, just use a potato masher (we are being EASY, remember).
Step five--put the soup in the serving bowl
Step six--put a spoonful of sour cream in each bowl of soup. Sprinkle a little grated cheese on top of each bowl for decoration.
Step seven--stir and eat
Step eight--hide the cans and accept complements LOL

OOOOO - this sounds like it would be really good with a little cumin and some fresh cilantro in it too! It's still easy....
