This is a drag. I woke up this morning and realized it was still dark. Tried to go back to sleep, but it wasn't working; I was wide awake. So I laid there on principle for a while, and then decided it was stupid. So I checked the clock (four in the morning!) and got out of bed. You guys didn't leave lots and lots of posts for me to read with my coffee this morning, so now I have to go empty the dishwasher and be useful. Nobody's home but me; hubby's on his way to Orlando on business. So I might just crank up the tunes and run the vacuum, too. This is a sign of old age; getting out of bed to drink coffee and run the vacuum when it's dark.

Ugh, tell me about it. Up until last night for three nights, I was waking up in the middle of the night and laying there until dawn. Yesterday I was tired most of the day but kept pushing and drank NO CAFFEINE. I was rewarded with a long, delicious, restful sleep.
Do you indulge in caffeine? The older I get, the more sensitive I am to it. I have to leave it alone completely now and still get only one or two good sleeps in a week.
Hope you can schedule a power nap this afternoon and get a good sleep tonight. The Flylady would be proud of you for running the vacuum cleaner!

I'm wide awake too thanks to this adorable 8 week old puppy I'm babysitting over the weekend. She was so good about sleeping through the night that when she started whining this morning about 5:30, I figured I better let her out right away. I tried going back to bed but she would have none of it and kept barking, biting my toe, or trying to play with the cats who were not thrilled. I just went looking for her-she was being too quiet and that worried me, my house is no longer puppy-proofed and found her sound asleep on the dog bed beside my bed........why couldnt she have done that 2 hours ago? ?

Well, I slept like a log, LOL... sorry Mary Ann....
I know how it is though... I don't usually wake up too early, but there's nights that no matter how tired I am, I just can't sleep.
Cody, I'm so glad you're here...
You have to tell us more about this puppy!

thanks Chris! I've been back online for about a week....finally was able to get my computer fixed. Just been lurking mostly....havent had alot of time this week to post. Still working my part time job, looking for a new main job (been off a month now), filling out lots of applications and doing some subbing in the school districts to get by in the meantime. Mikayla is off for the weekend with her best friend's brothers hockey tournament and we are painting her room while she is gone. I ache already!! Puppy is an adorable black and white mutt. She is supposed to be a st bernard cross but looks much more like a border collie to me....not very big yet either. Cute as a bug but has a sharp puppy bark which is giving me a headache. all my critters are tolerating her well.....but giving me lookss that say "mom, what the he!! were you thinking when you brought this home??" I dont think they believe me anymore when I tell them she's going back......i told them the same thing about 2 kitttens we rescued last memorial weekend.....they finally just went to their new home (my parents) 2 weeks ago....LOL

Yeah but Frosty, you should be sleepless these days, with all the wedding hubbub in your life. Me, I don't have that much going on; certainly nothing really stressful. I try to be conscientious about caffeine, having a cup of weak coffee in the morning, and maybe another at lunch because I love it so much. I also drink decaf (a gourmet blend, to disguise the decaffeinated taste) and always decaf or herbal tea. I have a big affection for rooibos tea. Have you ever tried it? I still get tired in the evening, and fall asleep early, then sleep hard. But when I've had enough, it switches off. I try and console myself that my body wants the time change now, not next month! How's all the wedding stuff going? And Cody, it's great to see you again!
