Today is the type of day you probably don't miss. Heavy duty snowfall with "thundersnow" predicted for later today. It is blowing a little and the snow is pretty fluffy so we'll have some nice drifts. I took my truck up to feed my horses and it was pretty rough going, apparently the county doesn't think people need to go anywhere on Sunday or they don't want to pay their plowtruck drivers overtime. I think we had about 4 inches on the ground by 9 am and it has been snowing heavily all day. I live on a main county road and the snowplow has gone by once and that was at about 10:30 this morning. It's let up a little but about 30 minutes ago I couldn't see the neighbors barn and they are a 1/4 mile away. The weather warning just came across th TV saying 4-8 inches and isolated areas of 10 inches. I think we must be in one of those isolated areas. At least it is keeping me from going anywhere which means I will get all my papers corrected for tomorrow.
Worst of all my hubby is on his way back from KY today and will have to drive through this. It looks like it starts getting bad down by WI Dells, which is normally about an hour and a half from here. He's got four wheel drive but I hope there aren't too many idiots out there causing accidents.

Yeah, I bet you don't miss this! I think we have about 4 inches, and it seems to be slowing somewhat. Grr...I thought we were closer to spring.

LOL, no I won't wax nostalgic about thundersnow!
I remember once digging fence post holes in JUNE and hitting frost!

No blowing here, Jenni....but I think we got more than you did.....perfect packing snow....LOL....not so perfect for little yaller trucks to get through.....
And....the ice under the snow is nothing more than a trap for people who are walking along, minding their own business......and WHAM......find themselves flat on their back....LOL....
Do believe our final total is in the 6-8" range. Best I get shovelling this morning before the gate freezes shut....again............

It warmed up later in the afternoon so the snow got really wet and heavy and didn't blow around. I shoveled about 5 last night, what a pain. My nephew's official measurement was 10 inches. My big red truck did just fine out there dashing through the snow!
