I posted about this a while ago....my neighbor across the street used to live with us and isn't taking care of the dog we had that was "hers".
Yesterday I saw her leaving her house. She told her dog to go in the garage, just like always, and then she shut the door and left. But a few minutes later she was back (I assume she forgot something). The dog ran outside and didn't want to go back in the garage...our dogs were out, and that is his "pack", and he wanted to come over. So she took him by the collar, dragged him over both invisible fences (hers and ours) and dumped him in our driveway. Poor Jacob got a shock on both sides because she was too d@mn lazy to take his electric collar off and put him on a leash. She hasn't been using the leash with him for a few weeks...she's a basketball coach and is consumed with it right now because her team is ranked #1 in the state and are in tourneys.
I called her machine after she left and let her have it. I told her we wanted the dog back. (The breeder gave us both her dog and ours; we told her he could be "hers" when she lived with us.) I told her I was not going to watch her take out her frustrations on the dog. It's not his fault. I was furious!
She came over later and let me have it with both barrels, only none of it was about the dog. Have I mentioned she's not rational either? The reason she lived with us was due to an eating disorder, and while her eating improved, her thinking never really did. She screamed profanities at me and told me I treated her like cr@p this past week (HELLO! I was home all week after having surgery...not sure how that works! Only saw her three times...she never came over or called to check on me....) and that's where it was left.
This morning I called and left another message (the only way she will listen without trying to manipulate a conversation with me) that we want the dog to at least stay with us until after tournaments since she's "So busy" with basketball. I tried to be very kind about it. I figure if we can at least get Jake for a while, maybe it will be easier to have him for good, and she won't agree to anything if she is still seeing me as evil witch.
Prayers if you don't mind. Poor Jacob. He really likes her. How can animals be so forgiving of idiocy???
