Here's the National Weather SErvice forecast for our area....
the Marais Des Cygnes River (River of Swans) is the one that goes through our area...one of it's tributaries, Bull Creek, is what is dammed up to make the lake where I ride so much... I'm sure Bull Creek is near flood stage...
John and I just came in from our evening check of the horses... we practically had to swim out to them!

A LARGE SHIELD OF RAIN WILL SPREAD FROM EAST CENTRAL KANSAS AND WEST
CENTRAL MISSOURI INTO CENTRAL MISSOURI THIS EVENING. THE RAIN WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT AND MOST OF TOMORROW. THE HEAVIEST
RAINFALL
IS LIKELY TO OCCUR TONIGHT. RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN ONE HALF AND

EASTON...THE FISHING RIVER...CROOKED RIVER...WAKENDA CREEK....SOUTH
GRAND RIVER...BIG CREEK...BLACKWATER CREEK...PETITE SALINE CREEK...
