Doc sort of recommended that one for somebody like me, that wants interchangeability with the lenses, but still is too much of a dummy to have other than automatic functions most of the time.
Does anybody have one? If you do, do you like it? I think I'd still use my little Kodak in my saddle bag, but it's frustrating when taking pictures of horses. The delayed thing and the lack of zoom is irritating.
I'm not the type to go buying and selling cameras, so if I get another one, I really want to be happy with it.
If you don't have a Rebel, do you have something else you love? I'm still open to ideas!

I have a non-digital rebel and really like it. I haven't used anything except my digital in a couple of years though! LOL!
I think you'll be very happy with the rebel. It's extremely user friendly, and takes great pictures.

I looked a tthe Rebel, and nearly wnet that way, but I ended up with a Panasonic Lumix FZ-10 - I LOFF it.
I have 12x optical zoom and 36x digital zoom. It has that feature where I can shoot several frames in succession and no delay whatsoever. I had that with my Sony and hated it.

I work for a photographer and I use the Canon Rebel when shooting weddings. Its a great camera. Pretty easy to use, has great lens options, very nice quality (professional even!) portraits. Highly recommend it!

? How does a professional photographer use a 35mm camera to photograph WEDDINGS? Definitely a new one on me! But I guess if the couple isn't wanting anything blown up larger than an 8x10 it isn't a problem

Cally, My SIL has been a professional photographer for years and has always shot weddings and other events with a 35MM. Now she's shoots with a Nikon digital.

Wow! I'm extremely surprised. When I spoke with photographers, I was criticized for wanting to buy a Med. Format instead of a Large format. I can't even imagine a 35mm!
Just one more thing to open my eyes to, I guess!!!

Its NOT a 35 mm. Its a digital Rebel. I believe there is also a 35mm Rebel, but the one I use is not. I thought Maryann was talking about the digital, but maybe I misunderstood. My employer also uses a 35 mm, in fact, the 35 mm does have better portrait quality than a digital so far in larger prints.
