My son gave me a polar fleece balaklava, you know the head warmer/neck warmer contraptions. It's WONDERFUL. At first, I thought, how weird, but I've been thankful every time I go out to do chores that I have it!
it fits nicely under my helmet. It's warm without being heavy. And they are right, you lose most of the heat out of your head. i can't believe how much warmer I am when I put this on. I can tolerate the cold much better!
It's been my "go to" Christmas gift.

My sister got me underwear and a pair of sensible brown shoes. I'm wearing the shoes almost every day and I'm still using the underwear mixed in with what I already had. My aunt got me minutes for my trac fone I'm still using those. Mom got me a back washing scrunchy on a stick thing I'm still using in the tub. And my friend got me soap on a rope ( I know supposedly tacky) but I'm still using it cause it will hang up in my shower stall while the other soap has a tendancy to jump off my narrow built in soap dishes in there. Mom got me art supplies that I'm still using, drawing pencils, charcoals, stumps and colored pencils and a nice sketch book. I'm pretty much using just about everything I got but the blue eyeshadow trio my well meaning adult nephew got me. I can't wear blue eyeshadow. I never have been able to. I can wear just about every color but blue. He being a male had no clue he just thought she wears makeup I'll get her makeup LOL. Oh well you got to give him credit for picking something out himself and not getting his mom or one of his female friends to buy something for me LOL.

My MIL got me a hand held carpet shampooer. I told hubby I needed it since every other day one of the cats horks up their dinner or a hairball on the carpet. $39.99 just a tab cheaper than the high dollar leaf vac that they wanted to give us. Of course Hubby got a big wad of $20's, which he didn't share of course.

I'm using my reins, when I can ride, lots of new earrings (I love unusual earrings), and a pair of black Ariat Boot shoes-the ones with the slight heal (sp) you can ride in, and a sweatshirt jacket and Sonny is wearing his purple blanket.
DianeI - I can tell you how to make the tied blanket so you won't have to fight over it anymore. It's really simple, once you get the hang of it you could finish one in 1-1/2 hours. My students make them at school and love them. Sometimes we embroider the school logo on them when we have time and they want to learn.

Oooh, I got LOTS of great stuff that I'm still using! Lessee here...I got a nice pair of running shoes from dh that I wear every day to work out in, I got a really pretty set of silverware from my mom (that I actually dry after doing the dishes, instead of leaving to air dry, because they shine up all purty ;D), a niiiice sheet & comforter set--the comforter cover is a microsuede that just feels AWESOME, a whole pile of good books & candles & nice things like that that just brighten my day every time I use them. And, my kids got about a billion toys from their grandparents that I use to occupy them when I need some quiet time.

Hmmm.....
I got a nice pair of Cruel Girl low rise jeans from the family. I thought I would hate them but I was SO wrong. They are my new faves and I highly recommend them. I also got a new cowboy hat, but I haven't worn it yet. Got a new outfit from the MIL that is horrendous and laying on my dresser until I can figure out who to give it to that would appreciate it! lol That is all that I can think of off the top of my head. Lots of other Doo-dads that I'm sure will end up in a GoodWill box during a fling boogie once they gather dust and I'm tired of looking at them!

Already did that (with my new pinking shears)....LOL......I had a piece of dark blue fleece, with running horses that I've been hoarding (even has a bit of *glitter* in it)......I finished it today (and it's bigger/longer than the gift one).....and tonight when Hubby grabs the first one, I'll just casually snuggle up in the blue one....ROF.....
They are so....sumptious......make them on a smaller scale, and they are also perfect ferret blankies....LOL....

I'm still using the flat screen monitor my BF got me. He also got me a really nicely framed picture of my dog, Cody, that I lost this past summer, I look at it every day.
Other than that, I got some cloths, which I'm wearing. My parents gave me $$, which I'm SLOWLY using. Bought myself a new barn coat (two actually) that I wear everyday.
DianeI, I LOVE Fiskars too! I have about 4 pair. They are the best scissors ever!

My DH finally heard me when I said I wanted some. He bought me huge-o not so great quality ones so I took them back and exchanged them for the best quality for the same $, which of course was a smaller size. I haven't taken those out since I got them.
One thing I know I will use is my Food Saver my parents gave me. I borrowed my friend's last year when I was doing my strawberries and I thought it was great. Most everything else I got our just dust collectors.

of all is the bookcase DS got me. I told him what I was dreaming about and showed it where it would fit. I really wasn't thinking about Christmas or him getting it for me. I should have known better. He fit it in his van, brought it home, and put it up for me. There's finally room for all my books, including a shelf for library books and my Bibles. Now I don't have books stacked on the floor. They are neat and organized. The Flylady would be so proud!
I think the best gift I gave is just the right size ball for my doggy to play with outside. It's good exercise for both of us. My boy loves it sooooo much!
Chris, I know just what you mean about the head/neck warmer. If I can keep my head/neck warm everything else, even my toesies, stays warm I'm so glad you're cosy in this cold wave you are having. GLHR!
