I had such a nice weekend planned, but as John Lennon said, life is what happens when you are busy making plans....
Jennifer from this board and I were going to an endurance convention in OK and on the way, stop by to visit KarenN and her wonderful family.
Well, first I had the dog debacle and though I wouldn't be able to go. Then got that problem solved and now Jen can't go. Her father is in the hospital. He's not in very good shape and she needs to be with him. I'm sure they could use some prayers.
I just don't have the cash to do this trip alone, so I'm staying home.....where it's supposed to be barely above zero all weekend, so I wont' even get to do much with the horses....
sigh... January sucks.

Yes, January does suck! Prayers going up for Jennifer's dad, and for Jennifer too. I'm sure this is hard for her. Please tell her that we're thinking of her, and offering prayers. Could you find out his first name and PM it to me, so I can add it to my prayer list? I'm so sorry that you can't go now too, but perhaps this'll be a good time to catch up with some long neglected reading. Something fiction and engrossing, so you don't have to know January's out there. That's what I've been doing.

A bummer all around, Chris. I'm really sorry. A person looks forward to outings at this time of year like a prisoner looks forward to parole. --LJ

I'll miss seeing you - but dang it's COLD here this weekend, maybe you should just stay put, take a hot bubble bath, read a good book, have a roaring fire, drink hot chocolate.... hmmmm sounds like advice I might take! We'll get together soon - maybe March.

Ya know, Chris, when the weather is the worst, it is the best time for us to stay home and make sure that everyone is okay. Curl up by the fire with a good book and next summer will be all the sweeter for it. Linda
