Hmm, talking about the dog rescues got me to thinking about these two Persian cats we need to re-home.
A friend of ours was a respected breeder, went to shows, took great care of her cats, good placements, etc. Somewhere along the line, she became a "collector" and started accumulating more cats than reasonable (something over 30 cats/kittens in her city home.) There was some kind of "intervention" and it involved the law. She gave away all her cats and sent two to us (flew them from California to Denver).
We are just not equipped to deal with "high maintenance" cats. (I have horses for that!) We've had them over a year, and although they are fed good food daily, fresh water, daily litterbox cleaning, we can't keep up with brushing, eye care, etc. They live in our music studio, a large building where my husband practices. One cat is very friendly, the other is a bit more shy. When he's over there, he's nice to them, but he's busy. They just need more attention than we have available.
My husband is about at his wits' end. They shed (well of course, we can't keep them brushed). They make hair balls everywhere (of course, see above). I feel badly for them as they really need to be loved by somebody, not just "put up with". So if anybody is interested (or knows somebody interested) in either or both of these girls, let me know and we should be able to work something out. I have some photos I'll post from home. They tolerate each other, not fighting but not buddies either, so separating them should work fine.
Thanks
