Some of you may have caught a little bit about this on FB, but hubby asked that I not post anything.
The past week has been a total blur for me. We were going to go camping over Labor Day weekend, in our new (to us) motorhome. Hubby came home from work early on Friday, not feeling well & his leg hurt. Checked on him when I got him, and told him he needed to go to the Dr. He said he just needed to sleep and if he wasn't better by morning, then he'd go.
Morning comes, his lower leg is swollen and red. I didn't give him an option, as soon as the clinic was open, we were there.
The "hour" wait listed on the reader board was about 10 minutes for him. Dr. checked him over, severe cellulitis, and she wanted him direct admitted to the hospital. One thing leg to another, fever, inactivity, etc. led to fluid build up in his lungs = pneumonia, which led to heart issues, rapid heart beat, etc.
By Monday,(I think) his leg was pretty purple, and there were huge blisters forming. Once those started draining, he started feeling better. At one point he was on 3 different antibiotics + fluids + heart meds.
Wednesday, we were starting to see some improvement and he could actually hold a conversation. Thursday, they weaned him off iv's and IF everything continues to improve, he'll come home on Friday.
If I remember to get up and function, I'll go back to work on Wednesday. Not sure how long he'll be off work yet, but I'm sure it will be at least another week or two.
I've got a trail this weekend so our nurse/neighbor is going to stop by and check on him for me. Either that, or I load him up in the motorhome and take him with me. LOL
OH! Then to top things off. I took the dogs up to the school to wear them out, so they'd be a little mellower when he comes home tomorrow.
We were just about to come home and Rikki kept pestering Frankie to run some more. Frankie turned to correct her, Rikki moved and Marshall was there, so Frankie "corrected" him, which he took offense to. There was a bit of a scuffle. She got Marshall just below his ear, nothing serious. He got Frankie on the forearm. Minor puncture, but she is sure she is going to die. Will barely walk on it. I put some antibiotics on and wrapped it to keep her from licking it, and gave her some pain meds. I'm hoping she's better by morning and ready to run on Saturday, but if not, there is another trial next weekend.
At least everyone is tried, so that worked out.
