I have one of the Hyper Kewl vests from Amazon. It is one of the simple ones--under $40. When you use it right, it is worth its weight in gold. First--you need a high tech shirt underneath--a snug shirt that dries fast. You may have to experiment a little with the shirts you have. Second, get the vest wet. Then, put the vest in a plastic sack for a few hours so all the gel gets soaked with water. This should stop dripping problems. Do NOT wring out the vest, forcing the gel out through the material. If it still drips after being in the bag a few hours, hang it up and let the excess water drip off. And, next time, don't get the vest so wet. All you need to do is run water over it, you don't need to soak it. You can put it in the fridge if you want. Now, put it on. Go outside and do whatever you needed to do. For me, it was pick huckleberries in 95 degree weather. These are great on motorcycles or bikes with all the air flow. If it gets dry, then get it wet again. Mine lasted all day. I was very comfortable. It will take a little bit of experimenting. If it is too wet, it will soak the top of your pants. When it is 95 degrees, I don't necessarily find that a big problem. You will find the happy medium soon enough.

Sounds like the cool coats I have for the dogs. They love them! Never thought about getting one for myself. I wouldn't want to use one on a motorcycle though. I stay plenty cool when I'm moving, just get hot at stop lights, and those never last more than a couple minutes.

I didn't know they had cool coats/vests for dogs now., that is great. I almost bought myself a hyper kewl vest but didn't know how it would work with the loose shirts I like for riding. I may rethink and buy one for other outdoor activities.

I wore a long-sleeved short over the top because of the bugs and the brush. It worked well in spite of being covered with a loose shirt (man's dress shirt)
