My Yukon Gold potatoes that I grew last year are still just as firm as when I dug them out of the ground. They were stored on the wooden orchard rack that I purchased from Gardeners' Supply--you can also get it through Amazon from them. Mary Ann send me some sage to store with them. For several months, apples were stored on the upper racks and that didn't seem to harm the potatoes either. With the racks, I lost very few apples, even those that had gotten dropped pretty much made it. And one rotten apple didn't spoil the whole barrel, or even the apple next to it. The deer were sad that more apples didn't go bad.

I got some great tasting purple potatoes this year. They had lots of eyes on them that were starting to grow. I cut them out and by the light of the almost full moon stuck them in the ground. LOL I am hoping I will have some purple potatoes from them, if not well it was fun. LOL
