Seems to be doing just fine. I'm not finding any quidded hay laying around so he must be getting some chewing action. He also doesn't come at his grain like he's starved anymore either. It's hard to tell if he's gaining any weight because his winter coat resembles that of a wooly mammoth. I can still see his ribs through the fur but he seems like he is filling in a bit in his rear and back. The vet said he probably wouldn't be able to chew the best until we got that tooth all the way down at the next appt in March so I have him on a high fat senior feed too.
This time of year it's hard to do more than throw some hay and give everyone a pat. It's dark when I feed in the am and dark again when I come home from work in the pm. We also have temps about 20 -30 degrees below normal right now so that makes everything lots of fun! Supposed to possibly get above freezing again this weekend but it's also our gun deer season opener.
