It has been really hot here. Hot in the morning and hot right up to dark. But, today, it was MUCH cooler so Plum got to go for a ride. It was so good for my attitude. I am not sure that Plum enjoyed it as much.as Sadie and I did, but two out of three isn't bad... Plum obviously perfers coming home to going out, but she keeps getting better. I don't think she is ever going to be enthusiastic about going away from home by herself. She would much rather go out with the rest of her "herd".

Heh, Sadie has the "why me" attitude sometimes. I tell her its a day she has to earn her keep, and she should count her blessings; she got to have a nice long 'childhood' she could have been in a showpen before she was 3 or on a racetrack at 3 etc.

Sounds fun. None of mine "rush" home but they definitely pick up the pace. A couple give me that "are you sure" kind of slow down and look back action for the 1/2 mile or so. The best was the horse at the trail stable who learned to fake lameness. He looked like the worst crippled three legged animal ever when you walked him out to the mounting stand, if you turned him around and went back the barn he'd trot off sound. So we'd turn back and hit the trail and he'd limp for about the first 200 yards and then be fine.
