That first part really scared me (the time has come) - so glad to see it meant the time has come to see the surgeon to fix the fistula!
Lots of prayers and jingles!

Tuesday update...
"UPDATE: Nancy and her mom Annette made the trip today. It was long and hard on her Posted by Lisa Lou on 8/26/2014, 9:47 pm, in reply to "Safe travels and good luck with the surgery!! We'll be " 70.186.164.134
but I talked to Nancy a good while when they were still about 100 miles out and she was doing good. She was ready for it to be over, but she was still strong in her voice and optimistic in her attitude. She's hoping this surgeon will decide she is ready for the surgery sooner rather than later. The surgeon is the best in the country and only does fistula repairs. They type of fistula Nancy has was caused by her bodies deterioration...think the opposite of healing. So if she couldn't heal, you don't cut her open again to go repair something, even if it needs fixing. She is healthier now and has the ability to heal. Hopefully she will meet or beat his criteria to be surgery ready. Nancy and I both expect her to be there.
She sees the doctor tomorrow at noon and would be admitted for surgery then if they would let her. I worry that the system cannot move that fast, but surly the surgery, the LAST surgery will be soon and she'll be able to put this all behind her, heal and enjoy life. Can I get an amen to that? "

Wednesday update:
"UPDATE on Nancy C. She has seen the doctor, they are admitting her Posted by Lisa Lou on 8/27/2014, 12:53 pm 70.186.164.134
to run test and her intestinal fistula repair surgery is tentatively scheduled for September 4th. Please pray that all the test give this surgeon answers that point to having the surgery when scheduled.
I'm so excited about this surgery. She's got to have it....I think it's the 12th surgery (11th?)... with this mess and it will soon be behind her. "

Ooops...missed this update from yesterday...
"UPDATE on Nancy C. Last night they put a PICC-line in and Posted by Lisa Lou on 8/28/2014, 11:02 am 70.186.164.134
restarted her on TPN. This doctor prefers the patients to be on TPN (as opposed to getting fed through her duotube) during the surgical time. Today they've already been putting her through the mill with test.
Nancy said to share the following information with y'all. Her room number at Emoryis E917 and the phone number to it is 404-712-3917. This may change after surgery.
I think it's wonderful that she's up for conversation. "

From Wednesday, September 3rd:
"More details on Nancy's surgery. It's scheduled to start tomorrow (Thursday, 9/4) at Posted by Lisa Lou on 9/3/2014, 4:05 pm, in reply to "Just a quick note....." 70.186.164.134
6:00 to 6:30 and it's a 10 hour surgery. She is expected to be in ICU when she comes out and to remain there for about 3 or 4 days. After that, she will be moved to another room where she will be for 2 to 3 weeks until discharged to go home. She sounds GREAT! You should talk to her! 404-712-3917
Pray that God guides this surgeon's hands well. His name is John Galloway and he's the best at this particular surgery. People come from all over the US to have him do the repairs. Nancy made a 330 mile trip to another state to see him.
This really should be the last surgery and then Nancy will be able to get back on with her life "

Thursday, Sept 4th updates from the other board:
"1) Nancy is in surgery and will be for hours. I just posted this on FB. Posted by Lisa Lou on 9/4/2014, 7:41 am 70.186.164.134 I would appreciate it if all my friends who pray would send a prayer for my good friend Nancy who is in surgery right now. February 18th she went in for a surgery and was supposed to be out 2 days later. Instead, we almost lost her and she remained hospitalized for 5.5 months while she underwent an additional 9 surgeries and was in critical condition for months. She got to come home for a week, only because her mother is a retired registered nurse, then back in for a week and back out for one more. She has been in an out-of-state facility for over a week now where she is under the care of a world renowned surgeon. She has not been able to eat a bite in months and has been fed TPN though a PICC-line and through a duotube. She is sounding SO MUCH BETTER lately.....getting some strength to her voice, but this morning she went into an expected ten hour surgery, the eleventh of this ordeal. Please pray that she comes out of this well, heals and is able to put this behind her and live a good life. Thank you.
2) They've told Nancy's mom that they will keep her unconscious and on a ventilator at Posted by Lisa Lou on 9/4/2014, 8:09 am, in reply to "Nancy is in surgery and will be for hours. I just posted this on FB." 70.186.164.134 least through tomorrow morning. Obviously, she's going to be in the ICU until she's stable enough to go to the floor. They're hoping that will only be a couple of days. If all goes well, they may start giving her liquids by mouth in about 12 days. She wants some orange juice or apple juice badly, poor heart.
3) UPDATE on my friend Nancy: The surgery is progressing as planned. They pulled her PICC-line and put Posted by Lisa Lou on 9/4/2014, 12:36 pm, in reply to "Nancy is in surgery and will be for hours. I just posted this on FB." 70.186.164.134 in a central line and they also an A-line to monitor her blood pressure. The doctor said the tissue where his repair will take place is "pink and soft" which is a wonderful thing! He said there was no scar tissue at the fistula site!!! "
