I know I must look lile the "hard luck lady" of all time to horse owners that get in over their heads! Why is it everyone calls ME to take their no longer "cute" horses? ? VENT OVER Any way, there are two VERY nice arabs avaiable here that just need good homes. I know nothing about pedigrees, names or anything else when it comes to Arabs, but these are both registered and supoosedly from VERY good lines. #1) four or five year old bay mare - very sweet and willing but unbroke. She has her current owners completely buffaloed and will probably need a good firm hand, but there's really absolutely nothing wrong with her other than her owners. #2) Stallion - can't remember color or age right off the top of my head, BUT he is absolutely GORGEOUS - that I do remember - breathtakingly so. He rides and drives, has been shown, is an absolutely pussycat on the ground, has great manners. The down side is that he has a deviated septum. Not sure what all that will entail as far as any special management, but it hasn't seemed to hinder him so far. IF it is a genetic trait, I would recommend gelding him. Again don't know bloodlines, but can find out. If there is anything I DON'T need right now it's two moer horses. Any takers out there? ?

Well if I wasn't way over here in Ohio with noplace to keep a horse and no money to spend on keeping a horse, I'd certainly take that stallion and get him gelded and see what we could do! I love Arabians!

I would bet my trainer would be interested in the filly. Let me give her a call. . .it would be a resale project though . . . is the owner okay with that? The stallion. . .well, if you had said he was a gelding I'd pick him up in a second. . .I know 3 people looking. I doubt the deviated septum would be a big problem-I have one too!

Karen, if the stallion were gelded would he be an appropriate mount for a pre-teen girl? I just got an email last night from a family in Okla who lost a horse to colic and wants to replace him but doesn't have a lot of money.

Chris - I really couldn't say. We only know them from Ted being the farrier. He was VERY calm on the ground. I'm betting maybe he might be, with the help of a trainer?

Karen, I'll send you their email via PM... talk to Ted about it. Maybe he has a good feel for if it would work.

Okay everyone - here's the rest of the scoop: Just talked to the owners again. They really want to place these horses as PROJECT horses with the understanding that they may be sold again - that is no problem. They just don't want to see them go through a sale and end up with an unknown future.
The stallion is 8 yo and is not broke to ride - I was under the impression that he was. He is VERY gentle and would probably be no problem to train. He has excellent manners - that I know first-hand. He has been shown in-hand and has done well. I will be getting his bloodlines and all soon.
The mare is 4 or 5, halter broke, gentle but pushy. She is also VERY nice looking. Both of these horses are located in the Tulsa, OK area.
They could have up to a month to move them but would really like to get them moved ASAP.
You can e-mail me at karen at rockingn dot com, and I'll put you directly in touch with the owners.

Okay: Got names....
The stallion is IVF Morocco by Kohsack and out of Indian Legend
The mare is a daughter of the above stallion - don't have the dam's name yet.

I am so glad you cleared up the "girl thingycat" adjective. I could not for the life of me figure out what that meant!
Too bad there are so many projects out there. Sometimes I wonder if people think before they get (or breed) horses. Karen, nice of you to try to help get the word out.

is this your M.O. luring me to Oklahoma with a stallion that has a deviant something?
Oh and Chris and MaryAnn - I did bring my naughty chair in case you feel compelled to put me in 'time out'.
As you know I am very very well acquainted with this particular piece of furniture.
