I started Weight Watchers in September last year and reached my goal 6 weeks ago and then Lifetime this past week. I feel so much better and can balance much better with that 78 lbs gone.

I had gotten down to 150 several years ago. In 2014 I reached an all-time high (don't recall what it was) and was down slightly to 205.2 when I retired in Oct 2014. I lost down to 169 by the end of 2015 so 36.2 pounds that just came off without me really doing anything. I got down to 168.5 in early Jan, then went on a cruise . . . Throughout 2016 I sort of bounced up & down - with an upward trend. I started 2017 at 174.4 and started the "diet" at 174.5. My first goal is 155. Then I will decided if I need to lose more or not.
As of July 12, I had gotten down to 158.1 - but then I went to Panama for 3+ weeks where I ate too much and didn't exercise at all. Coming home, I still haven't gotten into the routine and have been overeating. I'm up to 163.something this morning and ready to lose the last 9#.

I've lost some weight too. I found a system called IF (Intermittent Fasting) which is a misnomer IMO as the 'fasts' are only 14-19 hours. The science of it is that every time you eat, even with a low carb menu your body releases insulin and it it is healthier to have low insulin level periods at least some times each week. For me M-F works to maintain the IF schedule and then I don't bother on weekends because I end up cooking and eating late in the day.
I started just by having early suppers with no evening snacking and somewhat late breakfasts and then moved to just two bigger meals each day. I love it, because zero restrictions on what I eat. A nice side benefit is that I used to feel like I needed to eat something almost first thing in the morning or I was lightheaded from low blood sugar and that went away as my body learned to burn fat with the longer windows between last to first meal of the day. Also because I'm never saying "Oh I cant eat this" if someone brings in treats or we go out to eat at work I don't get any unwanted eating advice from naturally thin people.

MJ, yes, the casita in Panama is finished. It is far from perfect and lots of things that I wish were a little different, but I'm very happy & content with it. I just came back from 3 1/2 weeks in Panama last Tuesday.
The living room windows ended up smaller than I wanted - the bedroom windows are larger than the living room windows.
I had two way switches in some rooms, but that didn't happen - and they added a fan to one of the light switches in the bathroom. So, to turn on the light that doesn't have the loud fan in the bathroom, I have to go to the vanity. I also wish there was more than one outlet in the bathroom.
I went to a few stores and paid extra to get a faucet that had "one hole" for water coming in, but still had a sprayer - but the sprayer wasn't installed and is under the sink.
I bought a fan w/ remote control for the bedroom - but no one knows what happened to the remote . . .
However, I don't dwell on the imperfections, but instead just enjoy my time there.

Sadly after they have put me on Prednisone I am gaining back weight that I lost after Mark died. No changes to my diet, and I still swim 3 times a week and bike ride once per week. But my back has kept me from walking dogs. Plus Jazz now is 16 so walks would be much shorter anyhow. But weight gain is to be expected while on the Prednisone. I cringe to think how much it would be if I wasn't exercising like I do. I imagine the 25 lbs would be 75. I am hoping that I will be moving on to a different drug in the future since its thinning my bones now. It did heal the sarcoidosis in my pelvis but at a cost. Its only been since Christmas. They can't even blame it on my D being low since it was 33 which is a good number. How nice to have a special place to go to relax Dorothy. Course I guess I just have to visit my brothers south to get the same effect. LOL They keep saying they always have a bedroom ready for me. but I tell them not in the summer, better to visit in the dead of winter when we are on the 50th day of rain. LOL I visited for my brothers 70th birthday last year and ended up in the ER with a kidney infection. I hope to NEVER do that again. I was pretty close to having to be admitted. I am fighting the good fight to keep the weight gain to a lesser amount....and lose it when I stop. But I do have to say, without horses I have discovered the joys of stretchy pants and leggings. LOL I just went thru my pants in the closet and put in the goodwill pile all but my favorites of size 12 jeans. (I am a 16 at the moment) It does get discouraging at times but as my mom used to say, "if you don't fight for yourself no one will." And the best thing you can do is just keep on plugging along at it. Eventually you will see results.

You will see results Marci. Don't let it get to you and keep on keeping on.
Portion size is your friend. LOL
