I found on sale one of those dutch ovens with legs, the kind you put coals on to cook. Mine is the 10" - we cooked potatoes and a dump cake in it using our home oven and gas cooktop...lol... but I haven't braved the coals yet. I have a little recipe book, but looking for some tried and true recipes for my upcoming beach extravaganza!!! I am feeling like a real backcountry horsewoman now. I have come to realize that about half the fun of that group is the cooking and eating and socializing around the campfire etc including the dutch oven meals.

It is Cabela's own brand that is made in China. Shame on them!
Everything I have made out of that book has been absolutely excellent. Try the chicken breasts with the peach jam and other ingredients. I added crushed pineapple. It was wonderful--and wonderful as leftovers too.
