I used to jog nearly every day in high school, and frequently before I got married. For some reason since then, I feel funny going down the road-like I don't like people to see me, and I can't 'multi task' while I'm on the road. A couple years ago I got a used Gazelle, but that thing is so easy that my heart rate doesn't even really elevate. I cleared out my computer room, and with the discovery of Hulu, I can walk or jog or both while watching my favorite shows (multi tasking). M rolled his eyes each time I told him I wanted a treadmill. There was a cheap one on craigslist and I had it lined up for M to stop and get it/look at it last night while he was in the cities with his best friend. I get a text shortly after saying we would buy his buddy's treadmill. I emailed the guy to apologize for us not stopping after all, but the good thing is that we'll be getting a better treadmill. M's buddy only buys the best, and has barely used the thing. Watch out for skinny Lisa to appear soon! *snork* If I can stick with it...

Lisa looks just fine as is, I believe! But I applaud your intentions of getting more fit. I should do the same.
If all else fails, a treadmill is another good place to stack magazines and hang your clothes! :-)

Awesome! I used to elliptical while watching tv, it worked! That's great that you're getting an even nicer treadmill too, good luck with it.

Forgot to say, if you need some direction on getting started you can try couch to 5k. I used to run all of the time when in high school and college, now it's a lot harder to start out and this program is letting me do it injury free (so far)!

Now you can teach a dog to walk on it too,and take you're dogs for a 'walk' on the treadmill with you. That's why I have a treadmill....for the dogs. They were getting pretty good at it last fall/winter. It's about time to bring it out again.

I got one for Christmas last year, and I go in fits and starts, but I love having it available - the cats like it, too
