I got my Fib-R-ite breast collar yesterday. Now I am working on the project to turn it into one like the nylon breastplate by RJ Manufacturing. I called the nice people at the Fib-R-ite factory and they are sending me the matching nylon and hardware to make the conversion. This is exceptionally nice material. I have an old headstall and reins and I can't say enough nice things about the material. It is tough and so nice on the hands--just throw it in the washer and it looks like new. I also found out that Country Supply carries their entire line. However, they call it "Cozy Ride" so at least I didn't realize that it was the same stuff.
The Fib-R-ite Breast Collar was rated as the #1 buy by Horse Journal---and many, many dollars cheaper than the others that were compared. If my conversion doesn't work, it won't hurt the breast collar at all and I will still have a very nice western breast collar that any horse should find VERY comfortable. Don't be mislead by the low price of Fib-R-ite horse gear. This is something that really is a bargain--and made in the US to boot. Linda

Okay, this sounds interesting!
I don't have a Country Supply catalog anymore, so please do tell what makes these distinctive. I'm assuming they're for trail or endurance, but not for show? Do you have any pics to share? (Hint hint!)
I was so pleased to find fleece girths at Country Supply because I could get them with stainless steel hardware. I really hate chrome hardware, or anything that rusts or corrodes. The hardware on these girths looks brand new, even though they're years old. I loff them!

Mary Ann, Check this out >http://www.horsehealthusa.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/misc/fibritebreaststraps.html?L+scstore+pwmw0462ff13c113+1097557565<
Fib-R-ite uses really nice hardwear--and you just can't beat the price. With two rings, three snaps and about 2 feet of webbing, I should have the converter made that will take this from western to huntstyle. Linda
