Okay MaryAnn and Lisa....here is the recipe for the beans!
6 slices bacon, diced 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 (16oz) can pork and beans, drained 1 (16 oz) can lima beans, drained 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained 1 (10oz) pkg sharp cheddar cheese, cubed ( I used 8 oz) 1 cup ketchup 3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar 1 TBS worchestshire sauce
Heat oven to 325*, butter a 1-1/2 qt casserole. In a small skillet, saute bacon and onions until bacon is crisp and onions are lightly brown; drain well. In large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Add bacon-onion mixture, mix well Pour bean mixture into prepared casserole. Bake uncovered at 325* for 1-1/2 hours.

I'm going to have dreams about these beans. Those were SO delicious!!! So, were those the beans you said you had? Or were these the beans in the recipe? Which beans did you have? Oh my gosh...I can't wait to eat these again. Really. This can be your revolving dish to pass for Dr. Dan Day

I'll vouch for these. Omigosh, best dang beans I've had in forever. And if I'd had any idea how really easy these are, I probably would have had to fan myself while I ate them. Total home run, Sally!

I didn't have lima beans and had to use butter bean. Don't think it changed the taste

Ooooh, I made some of these in the crock pot for dinner, and the smell is killing me! Of course I snitched a taste and it's awesome.
