Well, maybe not the best but really, really good. I made this today and posted about on FB and Diana asked that I put it here. ;D I started with a roast (can't remember the cut but it was at least 2 or 3 lbs). Rinse roast and place into crock pot. Sprinkle sea salt and garlic over roast (I used generous sprinkles!). Slice an onion and place the "rings" on the roast (good for flavor and tenderness). Add enough water to almost cover the roast. Add a dash or two of Maggi seasoning. Set on low and let it cook! When roast is close to being done, pull out some broth. Make some roux (proportions are 1/4 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 cup COLD water and 1 cup broth; mix flour and water very well and until there are no lumps. Add broth and cook over medium/medium-high heat till thickened.) I ended up making 3 "batches" (3/4 cup flour, 3/4 cup cold water/ 3 cups broth) and then pouring it into the crock pot with the roast and rest of the broth. It thinned it out some but was still really good. Oh, and I also added one envelope of beef boullion into the gravy. Very simple recipe but WOW did it ever taste good and the roast was SOOOO tender and the gravy was tasty, too!
