Since so many of you love this program - tell me a little about it.
You get points to use every day - do you use all of them? Do you still lose weight if you use all of them?
What are the best things about this program?
Thanks!

I didn't use all of my points today. I'm too full. Yes, most still lose weight if they use all of them, but we're all individuals, so that can vary somewhat. We get daily points, weekly extra points just to make life more liveable, and activity points. They encourage exercise, but it doesn't have to become a ball and chain. If you do it and log it, you can either eat more points or just enjoy the experience.
To me, the best thing is flexibility. You can stay on the program pretty easily, no matter what sorts of curves life throws at you. A close second is it's a very healthy program, but you still can make room for the indulgences that make life more fun, and still lose weight. It's pretty darn kewl.

I like the fact that I can choose what I eat by making wise choices. I have lost 42 lbs and have not eaten a frozen meal. Some people buy the frozen meals and eat a lot of them. I am trying to eat healthy and stay away from all the preservatives and have done it quite successfully. Now, with the Points Plus program, almost all fruits and veggies are free so it is much easier to eat healthy and lose weight.

What I find about WW is that if I weigh/measure and record what I eat - I do really well. I think you should try following the program the way it is designed (ie eating the points assigned and being really accurage as most people underestimate how much they eat) and see if it is successful before thinking it is too much or too little food. I lost 80+ pounds on WW some years ago going to meetings. The people who did well followed the program. The ones who did not were always toying with their own custom version of WW.... over the long run, they didn't do as well.
I target eating my daily points. I am not afraid of dipping into the weekly flex points. I don't generally eat my activity points, but would if I were really hungry, or had a special occasion or something. I am amazed at how easy it is to forget small things... just this morning I made a veggie omelette and forgot that I used a bit of olive oil so I under recorded by a point. I don't obsess about it, but am aware that many people forget little stuff and under-record.
WW is a good, healthy program that is really flexible. I just wish their tracker broke meals and snacks down a little differently. I eat 5-6 small meals a day now.

I love that it has helped me to learn how to eat tasty nutritious food. As long as I eat mostly healthy food, I do not feel deprived and it does not feel like a diet. I eat all my daily points. I do not feel guilty for dipping into the extra weekly allowance points. I have never enjoyed eating so much.
As long as I faithfully track what I eat, I can eat all my points and still lose. Adding an exercise program would help even more, but as long as I eat mostly power foods and up my activity with household chore exercise, I lose anywhere from 1-2.5 lbs a week. When I am not honest with myself about tracking, drinking my water or portion sizes, I am not happy with the results.
To help track, I have to plan. I generally eat the same things for breakfast. Before our weekly trip to the grocery store, I sit down with a WW recipe book and plan what I will make for lunch and dinner during the week. If I do not do this, I do not stay on track.
My best friend in Texas just rejoined WW. We are challenging each other every week. We each have a bracelet. Whoever loses the most that week adds a bead to the bracelet. We each started with one bead. The bracelet is on my dominate hand so as I reach for something it is a constant reminder to really think about what I am putting into my mouth and if I really need it. Our weigh in for this is on Saturday with our home scale. Hopefully this little competition will help me stay focused and get off the maintenance plateau I have been on for a while. Next week, I should be the lowest weight I have been in years.
